SimPLLLLLLLe Jim "6-13" Harbaugh (B1G Suspenders McKhakiPants, Cheater Cheater Booger Eater)

Yeah, it happened....

FLASHBACK: Jim Harbaugh once broke his hand punching Jim Kelly

"Jim Kelly made some comments about me on a TV show in Buffalo. He basically said I was a baby, that I fake injuries," Harbaugh told Mitch Albom in 1997. "He said if he were still playing, he'd tell Buffalo players to hit me in the mouth and I'd get rattled."

As fate would have it, Kelly was scheduled to announce Harbaugh's game the first Sunday after he made the "baby" comment. At the time, Harbaugh was playing for the Colts.

The day before the game, Harbaugh decided to "crash an NBC production meeting" and that's when things escalated.

"Well, [Kelly] was doing a game in San Diego, and I wanted to ask him where he was coming from with those comments," Harbaugh explained. "We went into a room and started talking about it. He said, 'I call it the way I see it.' One thing led to another. I hit him. I threw a couple of punches. Sometimes you have to stand up for what you believe in."

After the punch, Harbaugh knew right away that something didn't feel right.

"I broke the bone while hitting him," Harbaugh said in 1997.

Harbaugh would miss the Colts' next three games after the injury and because the team placed him on the Non-Football Injury list, he missed out on three paychecks, which were estimated to be $140,000 each.

The moral of the story: Never question Harbaugh's toughness. stupidity.

Kelly probably pulled a baseball from behind Harbaugh’s ear.

I posted a while back that Jim was frustrated and even thought about leaving college football. His main point of frustration was losing recruiting battles with OSU, ND, PSU, .... He told John about this and one reason that Mike is being brought in as new DC was John's recommendation that he would be a terrific recruiter and a good DC. Almost every move Jim has made during the last 2 weeks has been about recruiting. Warinner is above average OL coach but Jim realizes that every coach on his team has to be an above average recruiter if he wants to have any chance of being a contender.
This made me laugh... last time I checked Michigan isn’t even throwing their hat in the ring recruiting players in the Midwest who don’t live within 50 miles of campus, instead choosing to focus on the Massachusetts prep school route.

But, yeah, sure... I guess not even trying to compete while watching other schools run circles around you must be frustrating.

Is Matty D still the recruiting coordinator?

I'm confused. Did he not recruit at Stanford and San Diego?

Has anyone up there asked the question of how it could possibly take 6 years to figure out that everyone on staff needs to be a good recruiter/it’s all about recruiting?

Well, if you ask them... their recruiting classes have been great. The realists acknowledge that they aren’t recruiting at the level as UM or RD, but they have been been doing quite well. Last couple of years was about development, a couple of years before that was about getting Hairball’s players in the system... now it’s about recruiting. It’s a win if they continue to only focus on one element of running a successful program.

Reminds me of the Barwis!! mania. When the basic element of running a program that they are laughably far behind in starts to even be addressed they think it’s domination time.

Never seems to occur to them that other teams have a S&C program, or recruit, too.

this off season delusion, so far, has been a mix of Barwis and Ron English goo fests from delusions past.

But it's not just the DFBIA, when you have media pundits egging them on, whether the homers up north or nationally. A guy like Webb feeds into the machine and tries to validate him with his stupidity

Time to breakout a DFBIA greatest hit

Back in the ever so hopeful times when Rich Rod and BARWIS!!1!!! were only a matter of time away from terrorizing the Big 10.

Brian from GoBlow delivers a rather uh......interesting piece on Barwis!111

https://mgoblog.com/content/barwis-effect

This is unremarkable, since "eeee Barwis" has replaced "sex" as the thing I think about every ten seconds as mandated by crappy stories in the "Lifestyle" section of your rapidly imploding local paper.

There is an "eeee I'm a little girl for Mike Barwis" tag on this blog, and it is only half-sarcastic. Can he possibly live up to the hype?

Over time, everything in your program is shaped by the attitude you bring. Michigan recruits are committing in the full knowledge Barwis is going to kill them, and they are eager to be killed. In time, this will manifest itself and the only things separating Michigan from national title games will be blind luck and Jim Tressel.
