Remember when tsun "usurped" osu's hype from a playoff run by hiring harbaugh. Must be trying to recreate that magic with the extension announcement.
Just an incredible 24 hour run Ohio St is on
Yeah, but you're forgetting about his zero national titles. As for their "gold standard". Bo coached Michigan 12 years before he won his first bowl game*. He was 0-6 in bowl games during the "Ten Year War". He won only five bowl games total during his 21 years at Michigan including only two Rose Bowls. He was 5-12 overall in bowls (a .416 winning percentage).
It is sooooo fucking good to be a Buckeye.
(* To be fair in four of those years he did not go to a bowl game because only the Big Ten champ had that option.)
It really is. Four or five years ago, sure. But if any research/vetting is done, anybody interested will see the guy is checked out and a husk of the coach/oversized personality he was. Be it mellowing with age, medication, personal issues, burn out or CTE, the Harbrau of today is not the Harbrau of 2007-2016. If you paid attention, he always had some serious in game shortcomings as a HC. But, his intensity often overshadowed them. He was an oversized persona that demanded attention, both good and bad. Now, in 2020/2021, the in game gaffes are more frequent and further magnified by larger organizational issues he has overseen/created, he's more like a goofy uncle dressing up as a football coach for Halloween and the intensity/fire is gone.its amazing to think an NFL franchise would want this clown.
Also, the co-champ didn’t get to go to a bowl if the Big Ten ADs voted to send tOSU to the Rose Bowl.It is really sad to hear them talk about their search for the next coach. They have been looking for a new "Bo" since 1990. He is their gold standard.
Now don't get me wrong. I was a student when Woody coached. I love me some Woody (especially now that we have lifted the "curse of Charlie Baumann").
But since Woody left we have had three coaches who are arguably as good or better. And two other coaches who are in the Hall of Fame.
Michigan has had ... Loyd Carr.
