Harbaugh never had elite ranked recruiting classes at Stanford. I always thought that was because of the high academic standards at Stanford. But as each passing day goes by and Harbaugh fails to sell the benefits of Michigan to a bevy of 3 star recruits (Neal and Snyder stay with Corn, Booker stays with Bucky, Williams stays Stanford and Pickard picks Cuse) I am beginning to think that the only reason he signed anyone at Stanford is that the player wanted a Stanford education.

On the recruiting trail, Hoke overcame his lack of success on the field by telling kids whatever they wanted to hear.

It's no coincidence this led directly to their 'no need to work hard' country club attitude when it came to actually playing football.

Harbaugh takes all of the losing and incompetence on the field and combines it with being an incredibly unlikable dick who probably takes a tough love, hard line approach with most players.

It's obviously not a good formula for flipping kids from the comfort and relationships they've already established with others schools for months if not years.

good point

even guys who didn't follow the Hoke plan have better initial bursts than this ass munch has managed to date though, Franklin at PSU, Balderdash O'Ballslap before him, Stoops now at Uk etc etc etc

just seems like all new coaches get a certain amount of recruiting lift that I don't think we are seeing from Cpt. Dick with Ears
