Utah
If we beat Utah convincingly in the season opener, we're going into The Game undefeated.

Urban took a 6-6 team to a 12-0 season in his first year. The roster JH is inheriting isn't as stacked as that OSU team, but JH is a better coach than Urban.

Harbaugh is going to turn Michigan back into a football juggernaut, and he's going to do it fast.

/9 wins is the floor next year. 2016 we're in the playoffs.
Hairball is better than urbz :slappy:

When called out on that he responds
I submit to you
that every poster on this site is delusional when it comes to Michigan football. The only difference is the flavor of delusion.

And don't get me wrong, Urban is a great coach. He's a proven winner at every stop along the way.

I just think that JH would have a similar record if he stayed at his individual gigs a little longer. The turnaround he did at Stanford, and to a lesser extent the 49ers, cannot be understated.

We should have sky high expectations at Michigan.
Urbz was at bg and utah 2 yrs each and had far better immediate improvement at both than anything hairball's done.

Who's got it better than us?

Maybe the team playing for a nc with a freshman and sophomore heavy roster?

I think Harbaugh has changed the tide on the rivalry. Hell people in Ohio are starting to believe him. Never in a million years I would have thought that. Selling Michigan jerseys is a good start.
He's really turned the tide on the rivalry.
He's making a believer out of everyone and selling t-shirts.
dafuq????? They're selling jerseys/tshirts in walmart and that means they've got the upper hand in the rivalry again?

The trainwreck when/if they go 5-7 behind the moped warrior will be glorious

Apparently he won an NC in his 2nd year at Florida too. I'm not really sure though, I don't remember that game.
Speaking of Tressel -- another guy who won an NC in 2 years.

We all know Hairball is a good coach, but so is Hoke. So my question of the day is...just why did Hoke fail in Scumland? I think it boils down to what he inherited in players and who he was able to recruit on his own. At the same time I think the losing situation there lent a hand to the poor recruiting they experienced.
If true then the same could be true for the next three years and bring another coaching change. The only difference being that the recruiting will probably be better next year.
But! we will have pretty much the same QB's and teams we have now for at least the next 2-3 years. Next year Scum will have a freshman QB and a lot of new players so I don't think they stand a snowball's chance in hell next year. So it will be the year after before they could be competitive against us even though they may have a good record, and the 3rd year before they MIGHT even have a chance to beat us.
And if they lose that year.............

Hoke recruited top-20 classes, even top-10 classes from 2011-14. His classes were in the top-3 in the conference every year he had a full cycle. Recruiting was not the issue. Coaching was, from the top down. Hoke had a < .500 record before even being hired at scUM. He had three winning seasons in 10 before going to tsun. He then preceded to take a ton of highly recruited 4* and 5* kids and wring 2* and 3* production out of them while running that program straight into the ground. He is not a "good coach." Maybe he's good for places like San Diego State, but not a major program.

Any decent coach and staff would have taken the talent on that roster and won at least 8-9 games the past two years. This year might be a little more challenging for hairball, as the QB position could be an enormous black hole for them unless the Manzone can become Alex Smith as a true frosh.

So why did Scum hire him id he is a marginal coach (at Best) ...Just askin'.
Top ten classes? where did he hide them? haha

I'm sorry... have I missed where the fucker has coached even one game for those assholes yet, let alone several games against Ohio State? It's still early 2015 right?
This is the same shit we heard in 2007-08 when dickrod was hired. Same shit we heard in 2010-11 when Hoke was hired. It's the same refrain. We still have Urban Meyer, and we're still outrecruiting everyone else in the conference. The talent gap between tOSU and the rest of the B1G is just silly. I think we'll be okay.

No doubt about it. The fact that scUM appears to be punting any class of '15 certainly isn't going to help. I guess it is still the quiet period and all, but I really haven't heard of that many former scUM recruits turning their attention back to scUM, nor have I heard any particular big names left on the board considering scUM... and.. it's not like Hairball has even assembled his whole staff yet. I'd bet he ends up signing a number of 2 and 3 stars just because they'll need bodies. Maybe they'll get some kind of recruiting bump here in the next week or two. I don't know.. but... it's a pretty tight window at this point, and again... he doesn't even have his full staff assembled yet.
