SimPLLLLLLLe Jim "6-13" Harbaugh (B1G Suspenders McKhakiPants, Cheater Cheater Booger Eater)

“Name another school that competes with the bluebloods athletically – we’re talking Ohio State, Alabama, Clemson – while competing with the bluebloods academically: Stanford, Northwestern, Princeton. Most of the players we recruit are good enough to play for Alabama or Clemson and smart enough to play for Ivy League schools. If you don’t win in the classroom on Monday, you won’t be here for many Saturdays.”

They really believe this shit don't they. The administration knows it's bullshit, but the alums and Wal-Marts just eat it up. First off, regular Michigan students aren't getting into Princeton. Hell, the vast majority of them aren't getting into Cornell either. Many of them tried......and were rejected. As I've posted earlier in this thread, Michigan's freshman class statistics are much, much closer to us, Illinois, Wisconsin and Minnesota than they are to the "lower Ivies," Northwestern Vandy etc much less the "upper Ivies," Stanford, Chicago or the Techs.

And that's regular students. Let's be honest, if Michigan's football recruits had SAT scores anywhere close to Ivy League--hell if they had them anywhere close to the upper half of the Big Ten schools--Michigan would be trumpeting this from the fucking rooftops endlessly. They don't. They don't even release what they are because they're no different than any other big time football school. The average is under 1000, which means that average for a Michigan football player is over 300 points lower than the average for a normal freshman...........at Ohio State or Minnesota.

Jimmy accused the SEC of cheating. Finebaum is an SEC honk.

Forbes Magazine, August 19, 2019 (reviewing John Ü Bacon's latest scUM fluff piece)

Perhaps more interesting than the dollars Michigan spends on football are the standard that recruits are held to if they ever hope to leap and touch the large maize and blue banner that is stretched across the Block M at the 50-yard line inside Michigan Stadium. It’s a standard that Harbaugh and his staff makes clear isn’t held to everywhere across the country.

“We’re doing a better job figuring out who will fit here athletically, academically, and culturally,” Michigan director of recruiting, Matt Dudek, tells Bacon in the book. “All three have to work. A lot of guys can’t make it here.

“Look,” Dudek says in the book, “we know there are people who don’t operate on the same moral ground that not only Michigan expects, but that coach Harbaugh demands. So, the last thing I’m doing is going down that rabbit hole – probably the fastest way to get fired around here.

“The good news is we so rarely go so far down a path with a guy whose character we’re not sure about that we get to a point where a kid or his family asks for a bag of money. I’ve never had anyone directly for anything. If they’re going to do that, they probably don’t consider us very long.”

Harbaugh, who has made plenty of enemies south of the Mason-Dixon line since taking over at Michigan, has poked the cages of SEC coaches repeatedly and in the book, speaks to the disparity in spending by simply telling Bacon, “(It’s) hard to beat the cheaters.”

* * *

[Perfectly defining Michigan Man] “If you want to make Michigan great, and make yourself great, this is a great place to be,” Harbaugh says in the book. “The ones you have to oversell what we have to offer, you know it’s not going to work. If you don’t get the appeal of the program, of a Michigan education, of the kind of camaraderie you get working with like-minded people – well, I don’t know what to tell you. You’ll probably be happier somewhere else – and maybe we will be, too!”
By the way, I'd love for Harbaugh or Dudek to name just one Michigan player who is good enough to play for Alabama or Clemson and smart enough to play for an Ivy League. Name. Just. One.

Just a reminder that this is the source of the delusional arrogance (for that particular quote, although obviously the attitude is pervasive).

Yes they do.

It's all they have left. The last bastion of arrogance. They have retreated into their emotional Alamo.

"You only beat us because you cheat"

Between the DFBIA, Domers and Joe Pa's Cult it is getting awfully crowded in there

You're going to put on a suit and tie for professional head shot day and not shave your stupid fat face?

Sometimes those once-in-a-generation astronomical IQ genius savants forget to do the simple things, like shave or put pants on.

Extra points for use of BP’s official language (sarcasm); let me offer something plausible...

His wife (what a catch she must be) wanted him to try that look (because of her crush on some star or other who can pull it off). What makes this plausible is that this guy has an almost preternatural ability to delude himself.

I expect this happens to a lot of guys who are, shall we say, attractiveness-challenged. I’m probably the best example.

Back in the 90s, I had a casual relationship with a woman who apparently had a thing for George Clooney; she told me she thought I would look good with my hair cut like his. Because of this pesky thing I like to call “self awareness”, I immediately saw the problem.

Me: You would like to think so I’m sure, but Jim Carrey had the same haircut in Dumb and Dumber. Which of the two do you think I would more closely resemble?

Her: *laughs* OK, you win.

... and I never heard another word about it.

The same conversation probably happens a thousand times a day in various forms.

Then there’s this guy. No self awareness. His bovine wife suggests it; he does it. Not a thought in his head that some guys look good like that and some look like... him.

It might have gotten him laid. The dick knows no difference between pity fuck and otherwise.

OR

Flounder showed up to work one day in his usual state and was told it was picture day. He then proceeded to squeeze into the community shirt tie and jacket they had on hand for the entire staff

Do they all have the same jacket on in the athletic dept photos?
