SimPLLLLLLLe Jim "6-13" Harbaugh (B1G Suspenders McKhakiPants, Cheater Cheater Booger Eater)

I’m a Cardinals fan, and I see some ignorant and desperate fans saying “let’s throw big money at Harbaugh”.... uh, what?
Here's the thing on the harbrau...I think if there's some pieces already there that just need to be whipped into shape, he would probably be good for a quick turn around. But, you get 3-4 years max and left with a smoldering pile of rubble. And the early successes will be complimented by struggles with rivals and big game meltdowns.

Jimbo gets all the attention, but his brother is twice the coach he is.

He brings up some good points:

In the last three recruiting classes, Michigan signed 41 four- and five star recruits, while Clemson signed only 35. It's not talent, it's coaching.

An example of Harbaugh's archaic offense from the Peach Bowl: On last scoring drive, after getting into 1st-and-goal, Michigan took four minutes off the clock to kick a field goal.

Urban Meyer states that when you block a punt, you usually win the game. Michigan blocked two punts in the Peach Bowl and lost by 26 points: "There is a level of suck that you must inflict upon yourself to accomplish a feat of that drain-circling magnitude." :slappy:

"You can sell hope and narrative for a while ... and then the kind of recruits you need to become elite move on if you don't produce."

"In big games, Harbaugh is incapable of making the adjustments necessary to beat teams that have the talent to punch us back."

"No excuse for lack creativity, lack of urgency...."

Punting in 4th quarter of Peach Bowl was "an emasculating cuck move...." :slappy:

Players voted Devin Bush team MVP ... Harbaugh overruled and awarded team MVP to Chase Winovich because Winovich played in bowl game and Bush did not.

Players weren't on board with game plans (both offensive and defensive) against Ohio State.

Can't expect players to play in meaningless bowl games when Harbaugh is promising them championships.

Ehh..

Clemson signed 11 5-star recruits in that time frame, Michigan signed 3.

Michigan signed 14 more players the last 4 years to get those numbers. Their star power is being watered down by attrition.

Clemson signed the nations #1 QB recruit, which had an immediate postive impact on their offense this season. Michigan has a bunch of scrubs at the most important position.

It isn't just coaching.

“That was a Brady Hoke, emasculating...uh...cuck move.”:rofl::rofl:

Can somebody PLEASE isolate that audio for future use in the these threads? It’s around the 21:00 mark. :slappy:

There is a difference between low 4* and high 4* recruits.

But yeah, I agree.

Per 247 recruiting:

2016 class
Clemson: one 5*, 21 commits, recruit average 90.30 (#11 ranking)
Michigan: one 5*, 28 commits, recruit average 89.86 (#8 ranking)

2017 class
Clemson: two 5*, 14 commits, recruit average 92.10 (#16 ranking)
Michigan: two 5*, 30 commits, recruit average 91.20 (#5 ranking)
2018 class
Clemson: five 5*, 17 commits, recruit average 93.45 (#7 ranking)
Michigan: no 5*, 19 commits, recruit average 88.75 (#22 ranking)

Michigan had 77 commits with three 5*, while Clemson had only 52 commits yet had eight 5* and had a higher per-recruit average all three years. It took Michigan 77 commits to get their three 5*, whilst Clemson gets three 5* every 20 commits. And look at the ridiculous difference in the 2018 class.

"What's Michigan's ceiling?"

Same as Notre Dame's: Beat on on weaker teams only to get housed by the Clemson's, Alabama's, and Ohio State's of the world.

I was wondering that too.

I gotta give Deace some credit, he's one of the few scUM pundits that isn't afraid to call it like it is. He used to be a pretty big contributor to the scUM scout site back in the day when the Beav was running things. IIRC (@jwinslow might remember), he and the Beav had a falling out over the negative-nature of some of his articles. I know he wasn't particularly popular because he wasn't feeding them standard rainbows and lollipops garbage that the Beav and Sam Webb would.

There's only so much of that crap I can watch, but geez, don't they realize that when your highlight reels are in low def or B&W, most people alive may not have lived in your "glory days" ...
