His Aspergers combined with his massive ego makes it such that he is only comfortable with a certain level of assistant coach, one that he doesn't deem to be a threat to him in any capacity, as harbaugh has to be the smartest guy in the room at all times. he couldn't handle ceding any sort of responsibility or authority to anyone else. as such, they will never hire any young innovative coaches that may burn up the recruiting trail or move their offense into modern times. quite frankly, they are lucky they have don brown to keep them competitive defensively. without him, they'd be a full-on dumpster fire rather than the flaming bag of shit left on your porch they are now.
