Lloyds last several seasons plus the two coaches to follow him have been John Coopers to a worse degree. At least Cooper had respectable teams for the most part.
Cooper had insane talent and just couldn't win the meaningful games. RichRod and Hoke had no talent and couldn't win anything but cupcake games.

So sure....they're similar?

Hoke had plenty of talent. He just couldn't coach his way out of a paper bag. Lloyd had plenty of talent. He got complacent and became Tress' b1tch. RR was doomed from the get go.

So not beating rivals, not going to bowl games, multiple seasons not even winning 8 games.......Doesn't really get much worse the last 15 or so seasons.

Cooper at least was competitive and winning all the other games.

Richrod and Hoke couldn't hold John Coopers jock. I despise John Cooper but any comparison between those two ass clowns and Coop is an insult to Coop.

Llllllloyd has the NC over Coop but Coopers worst loss was nowhere near as bad as Carr's worst loss.

All in all, if I have to pick one of those 4 names to coach OSU at his prime for the next 15 years it's Coop in a heart beat...and as I said, I despise Cooper.

Harbaugh is their Tressel.

He will grind their lesser opponents to dust with boring offense and stellar defense while hanging tough with elite teams sometimes and getting embarrassed by them sometimes.

Fortunately in this scenario Ohio State will be the team doing the embarrassing under Meyer... which still works perfectly for the analogy considering a certain game we'd all like to forget.

The pattern of initial gushing over Richrod, then Hoke and now Hairball by the dumbest fan base in the universe is telling. When Earle Bruce was hired, did we do that? Cooper? Tressel? The answer is no, the Buckeye fans as a rule took a wait and see attitude. There was more Pollyanna when Urban was hired, but as we have seen, rightfully so. How fast will they turn on Hairball, it all depends if he can ever beat their two main rivals. Either that or when he makes the inevitable jump to the NFL. I want this to be a long, drawn out process, maybe a decade of losses to the rivals, playing to half empty stadiums, O-H-I-O cheers in Ann Arbor, more autistic hilarity, and overall misery in skunkbear nation.

Their schedule this year is garbage.

@MSU, @OSU being the only two real challenges.

@Iowa looks like the next toughest game, with Wisconsin and Penn State at home early in the season being possible wild cards.

I have no idea what to expect from Wisconsin, and I expect Penn State to be hot garbage on offense (and in general), especially that early in the year.

I see them going 9-3 or 10-2 pretty easily.

Few rambling thoughts;

  • I could see them locking up the September NC with that schedule or I could see them get bit by Penn State or Wisky. It's hard to say with so much uncertainty at a position like QB.
  • If they get a 50% completion guy performance from QB to go with the weak run game and OL they can get beat by any top 25ish type team. 9-3 would be the high end.
  • 3 of the last 5 on the road against Sparty, Iowa and OSU is going to make it very hard to go 10-2 even if the new QB plays well.
  • They were solidly beaten by Utah and thrashed by OSU then won 2 of 3 coin toss games last year with a season from the QB that isn't realistic to expect out of any first year starter in '16.
  • Much like Hoke's 2011 team, a lot of things went their way (I know they cry about MSU but see Indiana and Minny) and of course the dumbest fanbase in the galaxy assumes that will all go their way again.
My feeling is they were vastly overrated all year last year and the pre season hype has gone to fucking plaid mainly due to the staggering stupidity of their fanbase and the media.
