I liked sports a lot better before Twitter. This kind of stuff is trite and unprofessional.
And you know we're almost all to blame for this? Lol! Message boards discussing the next best HS Soph or Junior and websites making big money to find the top ranked kids from every site and rank the best recruiting class, camps all over the country to watch kids play in shorts and T shirts. NSD is almost like a holiday now, I laughed as friends of mine called off work to watch kids sign a piece of paper and watch analysts oogle over HS kids who have never set foot on a college campus and predict how some were "can't miss" and "program changing". It certainly is a new world, and all of us here have helped usher it in, just like the message boards for every college football team.I remember when you didn't even know who a player was on a college football team until he was a junior sometimes. Now you're expecting All Americans when watching their junior year HIGH SCHOOL tapes. It's a different world now, for sure.
Totally agree. And people wonder why these kids go above and beyond to do the next crazy way to commit to a college. They know everybody is watching. And you know we're almost all to blame for this? A kid can post a tweet and ruffle the feathers of thousands of fans!Totally agree. And people wonder why these kids go above and beyond to do the next crazy way to commit to a college. They know everybody is watching.
Yeah, that whole "Ohio" schtick was so endearing.
It kind of was ? In that "dumbest kid on the block" kind of way.
At once embarrassed for him, and yet happy that he chose to be a Michigan Man instead.
The pinicle was when Ohio took down tsun in the orange bouncy ball tourney. Still get LOLZ from that. There had to be a lot of "what the eff do we do now?" after that.
This 30 for 30 is practically going to write itself.
