Stay with a new OC that he doesn't get to pick.
I would agree with that but I do not think that Mangini would stay under those circumstances. He isn't going to let Holmgren dictate his coaching staff or style. For that reason, I think he is gone.

I don't think it makes much difference. I really don't believe any coach could have had a winning record with the current roster. It isn't like they just need one more impact player; the Browns still need 2 or 3 years of great drafts to be a "contender".

i agree...hes not a mike holmgren guy and he already got the cleveland media wanting to send him packing...but i think hes done a good job with what hes got...and he lost weight while coaching at cleveland...usually its the opposite way around

Can't believe it... but... stay.

This is the first time since the return that I think a coach has really been building for the future in the right direction... this isn't an overly talented group, but, they do have some bright spots and for the first time that I can remember at least have NFL caliber players at most positions, just need some standouts to go with the core group I think...

As for Mangini, Daboll, Holmgren, etc...

I do think Daboll has to go, and I suspect Holmgren and Mangini agree on this... having said that, I don't think it would be a big problem for them to agree on a new one provided they agree that they are going to move forward with McCoy.... (And who knows, they may not)

He's well suited to West Coast offense... and actually so is most of the personnel on offense that's in place, less big play receiver and another competent body (preferably fast as hell) at RB.

I do however think, those things aside, we need more talent upgrade on D... maybe 2 in each position group.

Edit: in conjuntion with the "fast as hell" comment, and I don't think we need to go all Al Davis, but, generally I'd like to see the team get a bit faster as a whole... especially on D... Playing tough hasn't been a problem.

I have no opinion either way. I don't know what's best for the team and I'll leave it up to Holmgren. I mean if we could get a slam dunk replacement then I'm all for it, but I was also a long time Mangini supporter until the last couple games.

I think the poll needs a few more options. I can't say with not knowing who would potentially replace him. I am not sold on Ryan as his replacement since you are replacing a D Coordinator (for all intents and purposes) with another D Coordinator. I am not sure what you gain there.
