Shawn Crable is staying at the University of Michigan for his senior year of football.
And the Bible is proved correct once again...

As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly. (Proverbs 26:11)

I couldn't have said it any better. Welcome back, Shawn. Prepare to hang your head again next November.

Hart in the first round... that's funny...

He's first day material, don't get me wrong... he isn't a franchise type player... There are a few RB's that would go before he would, last year there was one WR taken in the 1st, so I'd guess several teams will take a WR. QB's tend to go early, the top DE's and OL's will go early, a couple of LB's will go, several CB's will go, maybe the top saftey as well as the top DT gets taken in the first round...

I think some of it has to do with Crable and the others not wanting to leave being known as "losers".
I'm sure they all went to tsun in part for creating and doing great things on the field and with the team. Since that hasn't happened they feel unfullfilled.

I don't totally agree with the "unfullfilled" theory (above).

Before 18 Nov 2006 the press had hyped them as "as good as Ohio State". In reality we spotted them a touchdown at the beginning of each half and three turnovers; and still beat their butts. The game really wasn't as close as the score (i.e. 3 points).

I think scUM may have had a group (Hart, Henne, Long, Crable, etc.) realization that as a team (and as indivuals) they weren't as good as they thought they were. Therefore, they wouldn't go as high in the draft as they had hoped, so they are returning for another year.

LEARNING TO LEAD: U-M's Crable undeterred by costly miscue

September 6, 2007

Shawn Crable said he wasn't sure how to lead.
That was his initial reaction after teammates voted him Michigan's lone defensive captain three weeks ago, so the fifth-year senior sought advice from friends, family and his coaches.

He probably never imagined he'd use the advice so soon on a situation so complicated.

It's too bad that Crable and every other member of this team will have their careers defined by the loss to ASU. Whenever their name is mentioned, from now on, it will include the tag line, "A member of the 2007 Michigan team that lost to 1 AA Appalachian State. All the "Michigan Men" seem to be holding to the party line right now. But you have to know that Carr has put the biggest humiliation on past and former players that anyone possibly could.

Is this guy a plant from OSU? Lock of the year, Michigan will cover the 7 1/2. My jersey is still laying out in my yard from Saturday, I thought a dog or something might drag it off, no such luck. I need to mow my lawn, what should I do?

Funniest line of the whole Crable article doesn't even have anything to do with him.

Split between defensive end and linebacker because sophomore star Brandon Graham wasn't meeting the coaches' practice expectations,

Bold is mine, but man oh man what a fantasy world these guys live in. Star? as in star in the other teams highlight film? Ok then I can see that but star as in one of our teams best players? Holy fucking Earnest Shazor batman. Oh btw, don't think its just the practice expectations he's falling a bit short on.

I thought they were dealing with it fairly well as a whole, but now they have seemed to slip into a group denial of quite some magnitude.

Crable not sure how to lead?? Crable leads with his head, right? That's what got him that 15 yarder on Troy Smith that pretty much sealed the game last year.

Crable?s play symbolizes Michigan?s never-give-up turnaround
UPDATE: 9:32 PM, Monday, November 5, 2007
By LARRY LAGE
AP Sports Writer

ANN ARBOR, Mich. ? Michigan linebacker Shawn Crable roamed to his right and seemed to have Michigan State?s Javon Ringer wrapped up near the sideline.

Ringer got loose, ran across the field and was headed for a touchdown.

Crable, a former Massillon Tiger, incredibly, sprinted with a perfect pursuit angle toward the end zone and prevented Ringer from scoring on the 72-yard run.

It was a symbolic play for the 13th-ranked Wolverines? never-give-up turnaround.
