You're taking it all wrong, Gator. What I meant was, if he wasn't an NCAA athlete, then the NCAA wouldn't be able to suspend him for 2 games AND he wouldn't have to pay back the $2,700.

I thought you'd be able to keep up, what, with your SEC speed and all.

That in itself should be illegal.....I know for a fact that Sharrif didn't have SEC speed when he left Pennsylvania....So where did he get it....the non-SEC schools don't have SEC speed and if the the normal kid in the student body doesn't have SEC speed at such schools as Leigh, Northern Illinois, and Temple then I deem that a recruiting violation...again where did he get the extra speed????.....the NCAA and inquiring minds like to know....

Seriously the NCAA is a group of jock sniffers who wouldn't know how to do the right thing if you gave them a map and walked them step by step through the process...a bunch of bureaucratic nannies who can't see the forest for the trees...:(

I would guess that there would be a legitimate way to help out families and kids in need without it being cash which speaks of an attempt to hide help or much worse. But maybe I'm just suspicious of such things these days when talented kids are involved. :susp:

A non-profit organization helping out poverty-level families is not legit enough?

I doubt they chose recipients based on bench reps and 40 times.

Yeah, it only took us 15 minutes to figure out how to meet each other in the Sugar Bowl. I gave Gator the wrong section number to meet :rofl:and with his SEC speed he moved to another section entrance before I realized my error and corrected as such....He wasn't too hard to find as really how many orange and blue jackets highlighting his allegiance to the Gators do you find among all the razorback and buckeye fans in attendance at the Sugar Bowl.....and yes I agree with Grad his son is the brains and the good looks behind the organization....

It would be naive to assume that his football talent and stardom had no effect on his family or him getting cash.

Where are you getting he received 2700 cash? It was 2700 in total benefits...the non-profit covered camp fees and transportation. The only mention of cash comes from his old coach who said he gave him cash to eat.

Edit: Nevermind. I see the original release says 2500 cash. I'm not buying that the SAM reps just gave him straight cash...every experience I've had with SAM was arrangement-based only. If this 'cash' is from the bake sale at school...it is even more pathetic.
