Sharrif Floyd (official thread)

Shariff has been one of the top performers today in practice from reports. He, Ronald Powell, Matt Elam and Keenan Allen have been the top performers. On a sidenote, Powell is taking it to Henderson pretty bad today; but the first day of practice that isn't too surprising.

of all the kids out there...I feel he is the closest to a must get for OSU. we really need to get these 2 stud DTs

Agreed completely. Floyd is a game changer that blows up the interior and makes life easier on the other 10 defenders. Hankins and Floyd would be a pretty darn formidable interior, especially with Simon.

Stock up due to his athleticism for this size and being the East player who is the most ready for the next level...

2) Scout $ - Floyd In High Demand

By Bob Lichtenfels

Video interview... Floyd really seems to have it together - confident, composed, well spoken... Still looking at Ohio State, Florida, N. Carolina, & S. Carolina... Will announce at the game and denies having a leader...

Rivals $

1/5

Shariff says his announcement will be a surprise, talks about the chatter and confusion over where he is leaning. (Rivals staffers chime in with vague, indecisive chatter on Floyd, but think a saturday verbal is bad news for OSU )

Precisely why you can't take public or private comments, particularly those right before an announcement, without a huge grain of salt. This is even more true when the new or misdirection surfaces upon arrival.

I don't know why some are getting so glam. Rumors always fly this time of year. I still think Floyd is a Buck. These kids love to build suspense for this sorta stuff.....

I am not totally buying it but a direct quote from the horse's mouth that seems to contradict the conventional wisdom is a little different than a rumor.

At what point did Floyd ever say 'UF is my leader'. Two days ago he named us his leader, and now everyone is even. These guys love to build their announcement up. Latwan Anderson named WVU his leader. Next day it's 'to close to call'....

Floyd could very well end up a Gator. Both sides are confident. But I will tell you one thing....UF's staff isn't expecting a verbal from Floyd. TIFWIW....

On a sobering note, when have Army bowl commitments ever been kind to OSU? Teddy Ginn vs. Ben Martin, A.J. Wallace, Barksdale, Rico McCoy, Dwayne Jarrett, Anthony Davis, etc. Not to say that Saturday won't be different (I personally think we land Twan and Floyd), but just a word of caution before we drink all the Kool-Aid.

Even if we don't land Floyd, we will be fine. Didn't land all those guy's and we've played in 5 straight BCS game, 2 national title games, and like 101010 Big 10 championships. The train will continue to roll....

If two days ago Floyd says that we are his leader and today he says that his announcement "will be a surprise"...what exactly is the rumor? A rumor would be rumblings that Floyd will pick someone other than OSU. This is a quote from the horse's mouth that suggests that he will pick someone other than OSU. Hopefully he is trying to build some excitement, but that doesn't make his quote a "rumor."
