I thought little Shane was just adorable with all those colorful wristbands.

Well, the dweeb didn't make a total fool of himself, but the stats are a little misleading. In the first half, with the game still in reach, they gave him quick, short, easy routes to hit. To his credit, he hit most of them. However, two things happened in the 2nd half: 1. K-State made defensive adjustments to cover those short routes and started putting more pressure on him, 2. scUM needed him to go downfield more in a sad attempt to get back in the game. The results are not surprising:

1st Half: 15/19 121 yds, 0 INT
2nd Half: 9/19, 74 yds, 1 INT (and one other that was dropped)

He wasn't a disaster, but that wasn't the performance many scUMmers are touting on their boards. Once K-State adjusted and starting getting pressure on him, he was really shaky. Not surprising for a freshman making his first start, but that 2nd half wasn't pretty and some of the issues everybody has pointed to were plainly visible.

Yep. Just wait until he has to play in front of 106,000 screaming fans, with Spence and Bosa chasing him...

I really liked their use of him in the read option and the jump pass-whatever the fuck thing he did off that.

It can be a devastating offensive weapon, they should keep that one on the front page of the playbook.

Morris averaged 8.17 yards per completion, and his QB efficiency was 53.7, both of which would have placed him dead last in the FBS by a large margin. By comparison, Braxton Miller averaged 12.74 yards per completion (#40 in FBS) and had a QB efficiency rating of 157.9 (#13 in FBS). Yeah, it was only one game, but it really wasn't a very good one.

Nope. It's incredible that their running game is in such a sad state that they had to have their super-raw true freshman throw the ball 38 times. We're all well aware of dickrod's recruiting failures. But that excuse is a red herring. How is it possible that "super recruiter" Brady Hoke has not managed to recruit kids good enough to field a competent OL in three seasons? His only two competent OL are dickrod recruits fer chrissakes. He's had 2+ recruiting classes, and none of the kids he recruited can play a lick right now. Hilarious. And both of those competent OL are now exhausted of eligibility. Good luck next year.

He'll be fine come 2015. I'm flabergasted by some of the idiots out there saying he should have been starting all season based on last nights performance. 6 points and a garbage TD in the end does not equal "should have been starting" status.
