Offutt and Warren Central went up against Lawrence North (Oden/Conley) and lost ending their season. Offutt did not play, he is still not playing back to back games.

Wow, can't believe in a game of this magnitude he wouldnt play in back to back games.

They should of only played him half or so in the other game and had him ready for this game.

The fact he didn't play in this game should give everyone some insight into how serious his knee injury was and how cautious they are being with him. Offutt has 2 full seasons of high school ball and 2 seasons of AAU ball to grow and develop. I have not seen him play, but those who have consider him a top 5 player in Indiana in his class, even with his injury. I expect big things from him in the next 2 years before he gets to tOSU.

Warren Central finished their season 17-7 and they are a good program....

He is listed as a sg but is more of a true pg.

I would describe him as a combo guard at this early stage in his development.

I think I read somewhere that he will be brought in as a 2 guard, but will be the point guard after Conley leaves. His ball-handling skills need some work, so he will be able to work on that aspect of his game with Conley running the point for two years.

it will be intersting.
but what i saw this year was two combo gaurds, two wings, and a post.
time will tell if that is the forumla or if it will change based on players.

Ohio State men’s basketball coaches might be babysitting Indianapolis guard Walter Offutt a little more closely now that Kelvin Sampson is coaching Indiana.

Sampson reportedly is trying to sway one of the nation’s top 2007 recruits, guard Eric Gordon of Indianapolis, from the commitment he made to Illinois in November; Gordon can’t sign a letter of intent until November.

With Offutt, a sophomore, committed to the Buckeyes but unable to sign until November 2007, don’t be surprised if Sampson tries to turn his head, too.
Every coach knows that recruiting isn’t over until the signed letter of intent is in hand.

In regards to Offutt, Matta has been recruiting him for several years now, I think it would be an uphill climb for Sampson and not to get off topic but Eric Gordon is going to Illinois period.
