SG Musa Jallow (transfer to Charlotte)

Jallow had missed the prior two games with Achilles soreness after making his grand return to the court in the opener following him missing the entirety of the 2019-20 season due to multiple ankle surgeries. Talking to the media on Monday, even though it was clear things were trending upward for Jallow, Holtmann called him a game-time decision. Behind the scenes, he’d given Jallow a simple message: “Just be ready. We'll see what the game looks like. Just be ready to play a role.”

“I did not anticipate playing Musa much tonight,” Holtmann said. “I wasn't even sure I was going to play him. But this game required his defensive IQ and his ability to switch and play and guard different people. We don't win the game without Musa Jallow tonight, obviously. He's got to keep building on that, and hopefully we can keep him healthy.”

That was good to see. I'll be honest, I didn't think we would ever see Jallow have that type of impact in a game or contribution to the team winning a game in a Buckeye uniform again. He has become an afterthought. Played very meaningful minutes at crucial times of the game, played tough, solid defense, and showed some explosiveness and good finishing skills around the bucket on a few of his made shot attempts. Good for him.

This fall hasn't been a normal one for anybody in this country.

The coronavirus pandemic didn't stop 51 current and former Ohio State athletes from graduating from the university following the Autumn 2020 semester.

Former linebacker Ryan Shazier, point guard CJ Walker, center Josh Myers, former cornerback Jeff Okudah, defensive tackle Haskell Garrett, former offensive lineman Alex Boone, wing Musa Jallow and linebacker Tuf Borland were among those to earn degrees from their university during Sunday's virtual commencement ceremony.

Best of luck to Musa. I greatly appreciated his efforts. A true unsung hero for the OSU program.

I don't think he was playing at 100% this past season, so I think whichever program lands him next is in for a good surprise.
He lost a ton of time due to his ankle injury which screwed him in terms of development imo. Really feel bad for him.

Came in a year early, skipping his high school senior season, so he could help be an extra body for Holtmann. Forever grateful for that.

Solid defender that showed some flashes on offense. Got his degree and will leave as a positive contributor to the program. Best of luck, Musa.

Wonder if he doesn’t go back home to Bloomington? Would be a great fit with Shaka at Marquette/Big East too. I’m sure he’s got plenty of suitors.
