SG Luther Muhammad (transfer to Arizona St.)

listening to ho1tmann's teleconference. asked about the players who transferred. said he wouldn't give specifics, but, boy... when you listen between the lines, it's sounds pretty clear that that the staff bluntly told muhammad that washington's role was projected to expand. and since muhammad is not nearly close enough to being a point guard and since we have more small forwards than we can shake a stick at, muhammad's minutes would necessarily decrease to a level they felt he probably wouldn't be comfortable with.

edit: still listening... and ho1tmann just flat out said it. paraphrasing: "sometimes rosters fluctuate because players emerge." ho1tmann was talking about washington -- and muhammad, by extension.

I just commented in the general thread about this. Coaches have to basically cut bait these days as needed. If you don’t do that and actively seek transfers you are fighting with one arm tied behind your back. Players can’t be the ones holding all the cards.
