Diebler has never been a terribly good shooter. I want to say he shot in the 38 percent range in high school too.

And that was against small division players.

I hope he gets his stroke down in 09. Shooting a lot and being a sharp shooter are two different things.

He has always been streaky, and when on watch out...He can light it up fast and furious...Look at the UNC game for example...

I have mentioned it all year that he needs to get used to not being able to get 15-25 shots/game but to getting 5-10 and finding his groove...Shooters love to shoot themselves out of slumps which at times can be bad for the team, but if they can find it they are such a great asset to a team...

Diebler will work hard and will be a totally different player next year...Remember Jamar's frosh season of shooting 23% from behind the arc...Look for Diebler to hone in on Jamar's 3 point record before he leaves here...

He does have to play with the added foot to the college 3 point line, though I don't think that range is too much of an issue with him.

I hope he finds his game next season.

He shot better farther off the line, I think more because he seemed to step into those shots more because they are deeper back...

Right on target. They could move it back to 2' next season and he still would not have a hard time with his stroke.

I spotted Deibler today, working out at The Hoop. It looked like he was working with somebody on some skills, but I am not sure who. Anyhow, I don't know how much you can take away from a little skills training, but he did look confident and fluid as he was working on some advanced moves for driving to the goal. Good just to see him working on things with the season rapidly approaching.

Any idea if these were nun-chuck skills? Bow-hunting skills? Maybe some computer hacking skills? Hopefully by now Jon realizes that OSU fans only want basketball players with great skills.

Sophomores expected to make an impact

By Dick Vitale

When Jon Diebler came to Ohio State, there was plenty of hype around his arrival. He struggled at times, averaging under six points per game while shooting just over 30 percent from the field. I feel he has a world of potential and he should move past last season's struggles. Sometimes there is an adjustment period to college and the pressure surrounding it. You go from superstar in high school to a different talent level, from dominant player to another Division I performer. Diebler should bounce back.

There you have it, five sophomores who should have a greater impact this season.
