SG Austin Grandstaff (transfer to Oklahoma, transfer to DePaul, transfer to Texas A&M-Commerce)

Transfer to Oklahoma, per Jeff Goodman tweet.

His dad is a total moron if he thinks Oklahoma is any different from OSU. You're going to have to play good defense there or the team will suffer. Bad choice, IMO. And rather hastily done after claiming due diligence would be performed. Austin should have chosen to go to a mid-major like Rice, somewhere he won't have to earn his minutes and would get as many shots as he wanted.

Lol, sounds like he just wants to hop on-board the easy top-10 team train without doing the work himself.

Clearly he was interested in being a part of the most prestigious program he could join, but there is a price to pay for that, you have to accept a role and play it even if it is less minutes or shots than you would like. Very few players are good enough to be the star on a top-10 team, and Austin isn't nearly that good at this point clearly.

And his track record at OSU (transferring after 9 or so games) indicates he is not the type of person that is willing to pay that price and accept that role.

Yeah, at least he was not as a freshman in college. Perhaps with some maturity (and maybe less "parenting" from Wes) he will grow as a person and have a different approach to team sports. The "I have to play a ton of minutes and can't be asked to play defense but have to have the ball and freedom to do whatever I want with it" attitude that was expressed as why he disliked OSU is not going to succeed at any good high major program like Oklahoma.

You're spot on. Something tells me Oklahoma might not be the final stop on the Grandstaff train...
