Plans for a rousing homecoming celebration for Libbey High School's basketball team were in the works well before the team departed last week for the Division II state basketball championship in Columbus. "We're proud of these boys, win or lose," said Patricia Lewinski, a Libbey administrator. "They really are fine young men, and they're all winners to us." Along with the royal blue and gold streamers, a spirit of unalloyed admiration filled the Libbey field house yesterday afternoon as nearly 300 supporters bestowed final cheers to a team that came so agonizingly close Saturday to finishing its season as state champions. A last-second layup sealed the Cowboys' fate as runners-up as the team fell to Chillicothe 70-69 in overtime.

It is no different then practice,
Oh8ch;1124699; said:It's easy to sum it up if you're just talking about practice. We're sitting here, and Buford is supposed to be a great player, and we're talking about practice. I mean listen, we're sitting here talking about practice, not a game, not a game, not a game, but we're talking about practice. Not the game that he goes out there and dies for and plays every game last it's his last but we're talking about practice man. How silly is that?
William Buford, Ohio State: 6 points on 3-9 shooting, 0-3 from three, 1 rebound, 1 steal, 1 assist in 20:57 minutes of play
Buford had some nice scores but also forced up some shots. The tools are there, but he will need to improve his strength before he is a big time scorer in the Big Ten. ]
