SF/PF J.D. Weatherspoon (transfer to Toledo)

Athletic ability is off the charts, the kid lives above the rim:

This is just the piece this class needed IMO.

I think the media is going to eat up the AAU (All-Ohio Red) aspect of the story, if all four end up signing and Ohio State experiences success.

I don't know why, but I keep picturing Vince Carter or Chris Wilcox in college (just high-risers). But this is all premature.

He's always reminded me of Jamelle Cornley.
With all due respect to Cornley, he'd never showed the same athletic ability that Weatherspoon is showing in the 11th grade. In fact he never showed the athleticism comparable to Spoon when he was in college. I am strictly talking about his athletic ability and not total basketball skills. Spoon as a little ways to go before he catches Jamalle in that category.

I definitely think 'Spoon is more athletic. I guess I was talking more the overall situation. Undersized PF from Columbus that Ohio State overlooked for much of their recruitment, plays bigger than they are.

Unlike Cornley though, 'Spoon will definitely be a SF in college.
