SF Eric Wallace (Official Thread)

The guy that comes to mind is JRich...

I think Wallace is going to fit in just nice with this class...He isnt going to be counted on a lot for his outside shot, but he will shoot in when available much like Lighty this year...He will be able to defend the 4,3,and 2 much like Lighty does as well...

Also I agree that he is much smoother with the dribble that I had originally thought, thos videos are also from 2005 so he has had another year to work on his game at Hargrave and should be more college ready then some due to the level of competition and guys he has went up against in practice day in and day out...

People saying we are going back to the old tOSU basketball are going to get caught by suprise...

I expected to see a raw talent with just athletic ability. I was very surprised to see a basketball player with tremendous athletic ability. I think he will fit in very nicely. Did not realize that he and committed originally to Virginia unless I forgot that.

We had a chance this week to interview sophomore David Lighty, just back from a trip to Serbia with the United States team that finished second in the FIBA under-19 world championship.
Because he?s been traveling, Lighty said he hasn?t been around the Schottenstein Center practice gym much to match up against the recruiting class of 2007. But he?s seen enough to come up with a nickname for 6-foot-6 forward Eric Wallace of Kernersville, N.C.
?`Mr. Highlight? I?m going to start calling him,? Lighty said. ?He jumps out of nowhere.?
Wallace, by the way, happened to walk down the hallway while Lighty and I were talking. This much is certain: he passes the look test in his sleeveless jersey.

I pulled this from a Dispatch blog. Mr. Highlight.... hopefully Wallace will live up to that.

I loooooved the way JJ Sullinger played for us, and I cannot wait to see Eric "Mr. Highlight" play in much the same way. He is an athletic freak and has been showing off his superior athleticism during Open Gyms sof far. His shot seems to be better than most thought too. I think the JRich comparision from above is accurate. He can play the type of 4 for us that Matta likes, too. I am going to consider that 2008 class done (no Allan Chaney, no Kevin Jones, no Eloy Vargas) and pencil in Koufos and Eric at the 'big forward' position. He is going to be so exciting to watch :).
