SF Eric Wallace (Official Thread)

Holy wow! I didn't get a chance to see those videos before but goodness can he leap?! Matta's classes coming in are just unbelievable. I am having a hard time just fathoming the talent considering where we have been in the past decade.

his role will not be on the perimeter. Wallace is one of the most athletic players in the 2007 class and once he gets into the weight program, he may turn out to be the rebounder we need for these future squads, at 6-7 and around 220 already, well he could be a force down low.

Everyone who has been following the program for the past couple of years will tell you we have lacked that role player who could go get the rebounds and play solid defense, while still being a threat offensively. I feel like Wallace could feel that role down the road.

Body-wise they're not very close, but I remember Julius Peppers coming off the bench at UNC and bringing a TON of energy to his teams. I don't know much of Wallace's game, but having seen the highlights and what I've read, I could see him doing this role....
- Not much for offense except dunks
- Get tough rebounds and play tough inside
- Energize

i just found this free rivals clip of wallace, which i hadn't seen before, and i must say that i am quite impressed. though i've known he's had outstanding physical abilities, i didn't realize that he is this fluid with the ball. he's known as a good defender. if that is actually the case, there is no doubt that he'll see ample time next year. i cannot recall an ohio state player quite like him. he seems like an izzo-type player of a few years ago.

the behind-the-back/spin move at :20 and the dunk (!) at 1:35 are absolutely sick.
