Grad, congrats - sounds like you and your finacee have a great future. If your fiancee is that unhappy at work then it is priority #1 to get her out of that environment. Stop the whining and suck it up for 6 months - I don't think showing the future in-laws that your first priority is their daughters happiness is a bad thing either. Not sure what the financial consequence of breaking your lease/moving/getting another part time temp job would be, but it is irrelevant to the decision of getting your girl out of the unhealthy environment.

Good luck on the wedding and keep us updated!

Well I was just using the Amadeus thing as a placeholder... it was supposed to match the Austrian Eagle... but I never did like it... but I couldn't really change it for a while after you made fun of it either..... whatever... we'll go red balloon for a while

No you made fun of Falco... and it really had nothing to do with Falco...

Ooo... Karma Chameleon... nice

Desert loving in your eyes all the way
If I listen to your lies would you say
I'm a man without conviction, I'm a man who doesn't know
How to sell a contradiction, you come and go, you come and go

I'll put this thing back on track :wink2:

Grad,

First off congrats on the soon to be wedding. I met my wife at OU. After graduation she found a job in Dayton and I worked here in Columbus. Two years after graduation we finally tied the knot. Long distance isn't the best, but certainly isn't too bad either (if you see each other on the weekends or meet up halfway for a "dinner date")... For those on the board that live in NYC and your lady lives in SanFran. I didn't have a long distance relationship, but far enough away in my books to qualify

I don't know what you currently make right now, and my guess is if you break the lease, you will be out your security deposit and a months rent... that isn't a big hit to move.

not knowing the details, if she gets the job in C-bus, I'd move to Columbus with her. No rent for the time period, chance to be with your wife, higher income on her part, and I assume a "promotion" within the bank on her part (if paying more, I'd assume it would qualify as a promotion). The promotion will help her resume and could help her find work in the town you both move to when you go back to grad school... heck she could prob. ask for more pay/get more pay if they see where she is right now.

For her sake it would be a good move. The money would be better, it would be a resume builder for her, and could help her find a job when you both move out of the state. The down side is you would need to find new work (you're leaving in a couple months anyway), you will incur a cost for breaking the lease, and you would need to move again.

IMO the pro's outweigh the con's... so I'd move to C-Bus with her...

Also, my invite was taken by the nazi mailman as well... please re-send :p
