How much money can a slaughter house really make off the steer if they're spending that kind of money to buy prized cattle? I mean they have to buy the steer, butcher it, process the meat, etc. I wouldn't think it would be that profitable but what the hell do I know?

The state fair animals are bought buy companies like Kroger, Meijer, etc... and then they sell them for market price to a slaughter house. The Kroger-type companies do it for good press and advertising.

They actually injected vegetable oil through a needle under the skin to fill in places where the animals were lacking muscle.

It's amazing the lengths that people would go to.

People also used to pump air though a needle under the skin to give animals the appearance of being more massive. They would pump them up with a basketball pump!

Pretty fucked up isn't it?

me? i do it to start my marinating early...throw a little veggie oil...some paprika...some salt and pepper....and boom...slaughter that baby and throw her on the grill!
