Most of their decent OOC match ups are from historical rivalries. Take those out and you a small handful of games that were actually scheduled with P4/5 conferences.Since we're cherry-picking data, let's look at Georgia:
Marshall
Austin Peay
Charlotte
Georgia Tech
Is GA Tech any good? I don't know.
How about Tennessee:
Syracuse (meh)
East Tennessee State (ha)
UAB
NM State
Who else made it to the playoffs last year? Texas? Meh - I think they have a good opponent early.
How about Florida:
LIU (Who???)
South Florida
Florida State
Miami
Okay, not terrible. But LIU???
Auburn:
Baylor
Ball State
South Alabama
Mercer - I think that's an elementary school
Ole Miss:
Georgia State
Tulane
Washington State
Citadel
Kentucky:
Toledo
Eastern Michigan
Tennessee Tech
Louisville
It looks like they like to play against an ACC team. Switch out that ACC team for a Big Ten team and you've got the equivalent schedule of a Big Ten team, I think.
This was the next big domino to fall towards an independent football league.
I think the B1G & SEC plus say ND and a couple of other ACC names (Miami, Clemson and FSU) and you have the "premier" league of CFB
No Indiana, Purdue, Northwestern, Vandy and a few others shouldn't be invited but whatever. World needs ditch diggers too.
I like the idea of a B league where teams get relegated to if they don’t spend the tv money and try to compete.Honestly, if It weren't for the research and academic connections, I'm fairly certain schools like Northwestern and Vandy would absolutely be at risk of getting kicked to the curb
Got a point.
