SEC (It just means more.. even its losses are wins)

SEC RULE CHANGE #1 - I absolutely hate it.

Watch the video and tell me this makes sense.
Old BP football coaches, I’m sure you taught your offensive lineman to hold their butts still until the snap - one of the first things taught in football.
Doesn’t matter how the defense shifts, fakes a stunt, stands or drops down, you hold still.
Now that’s all gone.

You just know that coaches are going to teach their offensive lineman to jump as soon as they see a defensive opponent, shifting and resetting position (stemming).

What a shitty rule change. Does this crap apply to only SEC vs SEC games ?

Can a conference change a National rule? My guess as to why is that offsides gets called for the slightest twitch and possibly kills too many drives. Fans want scoring. Unless it’s the wrong team scoring.

To your point, how do teams practice all year for one way and then have to adjust immediately for another set of rules come playoff time.

This reeks of somebody influential complaining loudly in the off season and my guess would be Steve Sarkesian, Hugh Freeze or Josh Heupel

How could we possibly hold SEC offensive lineman to the basic standard of remembering the fucking count. Might as well ban hard counts while they're at it, using their logic. I'm really interested to see how this rule applies in OOC matchups.

Or... the officials are used to certain rules, and come playoff time, they are used to those rules and need to remember that those rules are different in some Big Ten vs ACC game.
Ha - remember when Indiana got penalized for a late hit out of bounds, even though the Notre Dame quarterback hadn't yet gone out of bounds? I know I'm changing subjects, but that was stupid.

The rare 2-and-a-half hour delayed echo.
