SEC (It just means more.. even its losses are wins)

On my drive home yesterday afternoon, I listened to Packer's show on SiriusXM. Sankey came on to talk about a lot of different things.
What I came away with most is that this guy knows how to talk, present, and represent well as a commissioner.
Just giving credit where it's due, because he definitely makes Warren seem even more diminutive than he already was in my mind.

My $.02
He’s DEFINATELY a lot better at his job now than when he started. But typically that’s true of anyone with 5 years of on the job experience under their belt.

He’s getting a massive reputation boost right now because he’s had a very, very good past two years.

1). Successfully playing/completing a 10 game COVID schedule

2). Acquiring Texas and OU

My guess is that if Jim Delaney and John Swofford were still around. He would be a middle of the pack commish. Ahead of Bob Bowlsby and George Kliakov, but not at the level of Delaney and Swofford.

They began to pelt Neyland Stadium with rubbish, with sideline reporter Cole Cubelic reporting fans threw “multiple vape pens, beers, and a whole bottle of mustard” onto the field.

What's the SEC fine for fans throwing water bottles, beer, vape pens, a mustard bottle, golf balls, and other trash on the field?

don’t know about you, but there was never any chance I was ever gonna throw my flask, not even after it was empty. Especially when there’s still have the season’s worth of games left to smuggle whiskey into

Imo, this is one of the most likely consequences from Saturday night. Tennessee will be prohibited from selling alcohol for the rest of this season and through 2022. An expensive punishment because of the lost revenue

The person who threw it is likely to be the kind of person who would steal it from the hot dog stand…

possible. but then seems like they would call it a “jug” because that’s what’s at the stands in every stadium i’ve ever been to.

and it doesn’t cost extra.

so again, who the hell brought a bottle of mustard?

… at most stadiums. At Neyland it’s at least even-money that the hot dog vendor threw it himself

That might be what the SEC decides, but we all know plenty of booze/beer/whatever will be smuggled into the stadium on gameday. And it will more than likely only increase the drunkenness in the stadium, because people will be pounding their pregame beers knowing they won't be able to get more once they're inside. IMO, a better punishment would be for the UT athletic dep't be forced to make a donation in the amount of their annual alcohol sales to a non-profit. I'm thinking a domestic violence charity or something along those lines.
