Until the SEC's TV rights contract comes up for sale again, it doesn't necessarily make sense for them to go to 9 conference games

Now if the TV deals can be negotiated in the middle of the contract if they go to 9 conference games, I could definetly see them doing it in order to make more money. But I can also see them continue to be cowards and stay at 8 games

FWIW - If the decision to go to nine games is made, it triggers and automatic renegotiation of the contract and it's value.
Listening to a podcast last week, they explained it very well. Sankey's goals in 2024 was not necessarily to position the conference for post season glory, but rather to have 5-6 of the most watched games of the regular season.

He can then point to these numbers when he has to sit down at the negotiating table once the move to nine games has been made. Literally playing the long game.

Hasn't Aggy talked about going back too?
And I would love to see Corn also go (sorry Huskers).
It would be glorious if the BXII returned to the oldschool Big 8, but swapping OU for Aggy.
And then ditch some randoms from Cinci, Houston, UCF, etc. for Stanford and Cal. You know, just for the laughs
