I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing for a conference to dominate for awhile, but after a certain point it becomes old hat and boring. Credit the SEC for winning as many title games as they've achieved, but at a certain point you need a change of scenery. You also have to wonder how tough it really is for a team like 'Bama to get there so often when they're incredibly deep talent wise, they schedule multiple FCS teams, and they often get to skip the meat of the other division.
I think OSU will make it to the title game this year. If anyone can go 12-0 in back to back regular seasons it's Urb. I'm just not sure if an SEC team will also go undefeated. It may be more likely that a team like Oregon or Stanford will run the table instead...the former depending on the fallout from Chip Kelly's departure. Actually, I think it's unlikely another team goes undefeated this year aside from the Buckeyes, Stanford may have a good shot though.

You did create a NC or Bust thread, which I'm not sure what to think of. The 2013 team has a long way to go to before either is a possibility.
AND then you created this thread...that seems to highlight the SEC as much as possible, creating some of the worst taglines ever, and not even bothering to ask if the BUCKEYES will be the team to end it.
If in fact you are a 77 year old lifelong Buckeye fan OMB then God Bless you. May you live long enough to see as many victories for the S&G in THE GAME as humanly possible. Maybe even see 2 or three National Championships brought back to Columbus. If you're not, good luck, this ain't Charlotte.

Has anyone ever determined exactly how many AP voters have ties to espn? It's more than a few; I know that. I know that doesn't count towards the bcs formula, but it does set a tone for the pre-season polls that do.

My new favorite thing is to take SEC logic and apply it to other conferences. I just started a thread on another forum stating that Michigan State should jump up to #2 if they beat us, because losing doesn't matter and they'll have a conference championship to go along with a win over a current #2 team. That's a followup to my thread I started about everybody's favorite pain in the ass Gordon Gee going on TV and openly politicking for Ohio State to be in the BCSNCG because the opposite would be "Unamerican".

Quite frankly, Gee probably would have done that. I'm quite glad that he's out of the picture right now. Let the SEC be the SEC. There's no need to crawl down into the gutter with them.

Now? Just Chris Fowler. Herbstreit was classified as an Ohio media voter, so he lost his AP vote when he moved to Nashville. Craig James also used to hold a vote but lost his when he ran for political office. Nate Sandell is a radio guy in Minnesota that holds a vote and works for an ESPN affiliate, but he is partial to the B1G, so I'd consider it a stretch to say there are two ESPN guys with votes. It's really all on Fowler now.
By comparison, there are three AP voters in Ohio and all three cover Ohio State. Bill Rabinowitz and Doug Lesmerises are Ohio State beat writers for the Dispatch and Plain Dealer, respectively, while Matt McCoy works for 610 WTVN-AM radio in Columbus.
