Seantrel Henderson (Buffalo Bills)

While many recruits are buying word out of Gainesville that Urban Meyer will return to the Gators helm prior to next season, our sources say Seantrel Henderson's camp is not buying it. We hear the Hendersons feel Meyer changed his "resignation" to a "leave of absence" to save the current Florida recruiting class. They think once the class is signed it will be a matter of (not much) time before Meyer exits Swamp left.

We also hear the Hendersons think Pete Carroll's oldest son, Trojans assistant coach Brennan Carroll, is pulling an Urban. The thought is the younger Carroll will leave USC to join Pops in Seattle once the Trojans recruiting class is signed

A family that shows some actual credulity towards claims in the recruiting game?!

Wonders never cease.

The new "Urban" legend!

How dare anyone to doubt Mohammed Meyer!

Does anybody on this board think ND is a legit contender here? I think we have a sizable lead at this point. Signing day couldn't come fast enough.

Every recruit is different, but Notre Dame has a very strong relationship with CDH. Having said that, I talk to a few ND homers who usually are pretty credible with their info (but who also think every kid with even an slight interest in ND is headed there) and even they think ND can't catch up to the Bucks at this point. After some of the unfortunate turns in recruiting the past few weeks, OSU has to be due to win one at some point.

Stability on Ohio State's side in chase for No. 1 football recruit Seantrel Henderson
By Doug Lesmerises, The Plain Dealer
January 19, 2010

National Signing Day is just over two weeks away, and Minnesota offensive tackle Seantrel Henderson remains the biggest target left in recruiting. Ranked as the No. 2 player in the country by Rivals.com, he's one of the seven players in the Rivals top 25 that hasn't given an oral commitment.

Henderson is the No. 1 player in this class according to Scout.com, and just six of the top 25 Scout player remain unpledged.

Here's a major point to remember about Henderson - he has taken four official visits to so far, to Ohio State, Notre Dame, USC and Florida. Since those visits, Notre Dame and USC changed coaches and the Urban Meyer situation developed at Florida.

The only place that hasn't changed is Ohio State.

Henderson will take his fifth and final official visit to Miami on Jan. 29, just five days before Signing Day.

As this video shows, stability is important to the Henderson family, as it is to most recruits. Ohio State is nothing if not stable.

Thank goodness that OSU won the Rose Bowl and that seemed to shut up the 'Fire Tressel' contingent that has become more vocal over the last three years. Idiots that they are. Maybe that BCS win signaled a change in OSU fortunes on the gridiron as well as 'closing the deal' with the OOS 5*'s. Here's hoping. The Rose win, plus Penn St's win, as well as Iowa (and I expect the close losses of the others), seemed to signifiy that the B10 is 'back' in the eyes of the public. (Didn't realize we had gone anywhere).

From all I've read, it seems like OSU has everything that Seantrel is looking for, except maybe for glamour. OSU doesn't have the 'splash' of USC or Florida (and/or SEC), but it's the most solid of the biggies with the impending changes (maybe exceptions of Texas and OK) or rumors of change. Hey, first team all-B10 is worth at least a second round pro selection. Plus all of the pro help prior to Combine, and yearly thereafter. Plus Seantrel is first and foremost a midwest kid. As such, the glitter is definitely a new experience, but in the end, let's hope he sees through it and remains true to his roots. OSU puts linemen in the league as well as LBs, DBs, and WRs, so here's hoping Seantrel comes on board.

:gobucks3::gobucks4::banger: Look at the records over the last ten years, and OSU is always up there. (Are you hearing me, Seantrel?)
