scUMs loss, bad for us in the long run?

I could give a rats ass who Michigan replaces Carr with.

Yea, but who would actually want one of your rat's asses?

Outside of Urban Meyer and (maybe) Pete Carroll, I can't think of anybody they could hire that would worry me. Now, if they hire some lesser known coach who starts making proclamations at halftime in Crisler arena, I might take notice.:)
I am surprised at the "maybe PC". If anyone's a maybe in those two, I'll say it's Urban. I'll be worried about Tedford or Corwin Brown as well though. That being said, there's a Cowherd radio show on ESPN where he goes over the same topic. He mentions Tedford's name as well. Greg Schiano could also give us some fits IMO.

I am beginning to join with those who think Carr really is a bad coach. Prior to
Saturday, I ascribed their problems to the usual things like poor execution, assistant coaching mistakes, talent gaps, etc. But now I do think that there is nowhere to lay the blame for their embarrassment except at Carr's feet. While we revel in their discomfort, I do think there will be negative repercussions for the Bucks, over time.

The conventional wisdom was that Carr was in his last year anyway. Few can doubt that now. And if true, scUM will have the drawing power to attract a really high quality coach, and so the days of LLoyd and his mediocrity are probably numbered. That is the long view, and while we have one of our own, scUM having one will threaten to narrow the more recent gap.

In the shorter term, I cannot imagine that if scUM has the level of talent on this year's team ascribed to them, and if they have any level of "heart" at all, they are going to be incredibly motivated by this horror, and rededicate themselves to redemption. Time will tell whether that is true, and it will probably manifest itself before our game in November, but regardless, one cannot suppose anything but that they will be higher than a kite when we play them. They will look at that game as a means of salvaging their reputations. We better be ready! Any supposition that they are really not that good may result in a big, and unpleasant, surprise. So, we all giggle at them now, but after a while we and our team need to get over that.

Go Bucks!

Everyones always motivated for The Game. Tsuns weaknesses are real and they aren't the kind of thing that can easily be covered up by coaching adjustments or extra motivation.

As its currently constructed and coached I would say OSU wins head to head vs tsun 7-8 times out of 10.

the scum loss was bad for scum and bad for the big 10. it was an absolute embarrassment. scum was the perceived #1 team in the conference (whether it actually was or not is irrelevant). after last seasons debacle by the 2 bigs this further perpetuates the belief that the big 10 is overrated and underachieving. furthermore, it devalues the ass kicking we will give them at the end of the year :p.

to answer the "will a new coach at scum be bad for us" question. the answer is, very likely yes. given scums track record they will vulture another top coach from ohio. someone who will likely have strong ties to ohio high schools. i don't believe we will ever go back to the coop era of ohio recruiting under tressel. but i have really enjoyed our ohio recruiting classes with the lack of meddling from up north. personally, id like to keep it that way for a bit longer.

besides, coop was 2-10-1. the scummers should get no less than 13 yrs. under carr against tressel. tis only fair.

TSUN's loss to ASU very well may hurt the Buckeyes if they are fortunate enough to go undefeated and be in contention for the BCS Championship game. This makes OSU's already weak schedule seem even weaker. I'm tellin' ya, this team has a legitimate shot to run the table, and still be shut out of the championship game. TSUN's loss, though fun to see, doesn't help tOSU at all.

Bo Pelini. The scUMbags already hired one Bo away from Ohio State. I wouldn't put it past 'em to do it twice.

Pelini is going to be a helluva coach. Frankly, I think he's more important to LSU than Les Miles is.

This game and this loss, to me, is the ULTIMATE proof that pre-season rankings are worthless and weak. Personally, I think there shouldn't be rankings until after a couple of weeks of play but I fully realize that the rankings help sell games and advertisement time on t.v. so it will probably never go away unfortunately.

He also comes complete with deep ties to the Y-town area for recruting purposes.

I would welcome Les Miles, he's overrated. BP might concern me but then again, its one thing to be a hot shot coordinator and another thing to be HC.

Getting rid of Carr can only help us and the Big Ten. Carr and the Wolverines have hurt the Big Ten over the past 3 years and 1 game.

They are one of 3 maybe 4 powerhouses in the Big Ten. We count on them to be the 2nd most competitive team in the country behind well i'll let you guess.

Now the Big Ten falls behind the SEC, the PAC 10, and the BIg 12. The Big east might even match up to the Big Ten. Even the ACC???? That is totally horrible.

This will be a bad year for the Big Ten if Michigan can't get their head out of their ass soon...like today already.
