Schedule Openings in 2017-2019 -- Who do you want to see Ohio State play?

I'd like to see a Big Ten vs. ________ challenge. Like the Big Ten vs. ACC challenge in basketball. Big Ten vs. SEC. Big Ten vs. Pac-12. Whatever. I'd REALLY like to see Big Ten vs. SEC. Year 1, make the game be the first game of the year - hottest time of year - in the SEC home stadiums. Year 2, make the game be the last game of the year - after the conference championship games - in the Big Ten home stadiums. Basically, we'll play you in your heat if you come play us in our cold. I know it would never happen, for many, many reasons. But I'd think it'd be pretty cool to see.

By the time 2017 rolls around some conferences will have likely expanded, changed their conference scheduling format, or juggled their schedules too. With as shaky as the Big XII is those Oklahoma and TCU games are not set in stone.

A lot of people gripe about the fact the Buckeyes had to turn around off of Navy and play VT in one week last season, forgetting that as late as summer 2013 the 2014 schedule had Sep 6 as a bye and the VT game on Sept 20. A LOT can change in 15 months.

I guess it's why it's phrased this way, but Florida Atlantic is not what I was hoping for...

Gene Smith said:
We will play two more BCS games [in 2018]... That year [2018] is a snapshot of future years. As we move forward, from 2018 and out, our goal is BCS only. We are looking at top ranked teams, 1-50 teams.

I get the fact that we play 1 premier game a year non-conference, but is it too much to ask to play a mid-to-low power 5 team to go with it?

I'll reluctantly accept FAU because we have Cincy to go with TCU in '19 (and it wouldn't be terrible recruiting-wise to play a team from Florida), but UNLV and Army in the same year is a joke. The only reason I hope Army was scheduled was because Gene called each of the schools I detailed in the 1st post in this thread that had a matching open date in '17, looking for a 1-time home game at the Horseshoe, and was told to pound sand.
