Saturday: Well, we all know what happened.
Sunday: The Chargers get jobbed.
Monday: The ONLY reason I have my satellite radio, Fungus 53 On XM, is replaced with 24 hours a day AC/DC. 200+ Channels and no punk to be found :(
NFBuck;1261539; said:Okay, I've been out of the loop over here for basically the last 6 months. Have Sirius/XM already combined? When I get back in the next couple weeks, do I have to change anything on my current radio or is it a seamless transition?
jlb1705;1261799; said:Yeah, they put AC/DC on the punk channel on Sirius as well. I don't listen to that channel, but I know I'd be pissed off if they put some shit like that that you can hear on pretty much any radio station on in place of Left of Center.
Sirius did come in real handy last night when I was without power. I sat in my car with a couple PB & Js and a bag of chips and listened to the Browns game.
id tell them fine, im going to print an anti xm radio station sign and stick it in my front yard, tell them you were going to run their company down to every person you talked, from the guy at the wendys drive through to your co workers and people at the supermarket. then id ask for their email, when they ask why tell them so they can see your sign in your front yard once you put it up.Well, after my emails back and forth, I was basically told to eat a bag of dicks by XM. Fungus, the punk channel, apparently peaked on it's best day with about 600 listeners, with about 75% of them listening to multiple channels, the 40's music channel peaks at around 4000, so punk is basically dead as far as XM/Sirius is concerned, the recomended internet radio to me. As for my subscription that got renewed on August 15th for a year, the lady I talked to said:
XM: "We can give you an additional three months of programming, perhaps you can find something you'd like between now and then"
Me: "No thank you, I would like to cancel, I really only listen to this one channel"
XM: "Well, it shows here you have 11 months remaining."
Me: "Yeah, I wanted to see what I could do to about getting a refund"
XM: "We don't offer refunds, when you pay for the year that's what you get, have you read your contract"
Me: "yes, but I was only a subscriber for one channel, if you look, over the past year I have never moved my XM radio"
XM: "Well, the best I can do is cancel you but you will still have service until August 15th of next year"
Me: "Can I speak to your manager"
XM: "Sure, hold on"
The Lady I spoke to sounded like someone who was born a few weeks before the earth, she was nice, but if I was cancelling something, and it just auto-renewed a month ago, I wanted to get my money back. So, I waited for a few minutes and got a manager.
XM: "How can I help you today"
Me: "well, let me explain my situation to you. There's no punk on the radio, so I subscribed to XM to listen to Fungus 53, that channel has been removed, so I wanted to see about cancelling my account"
XM: "I can do that, but you have 13 more months of programming, are you sure you want to cancel"
Me: "well, since I only listen to one channel, I was hoping you could refund me, I can pay full price for the month, but that's still over a hundred dollars I would be wasting"
XM: "It's against our policy, and defined in the contract you agreed to when you paid for the year"
Me: "If I had known that my favorite channel was gong to be gone, I wouldn't have subscribed"
XM: "Can I put you on hold, I am going to speak to some people about this"
Me: "Sure, and thank you"
A long pause followed.
XM: "Well sir, it shows you have been a subscriber since 2002."
Me: "That sounds about right."
XM: "But Fungus wasn't born until 2003"
Me: "Ok, I was curious about Satelite Radio and got one for Christmas"
XM: "So, you didn't enjoy any of our programming until Fungus came around?"
Me: "Well, I listened to some sports, it was good on long road trips..."
At this point, I knew I was fucked.
XM: "I'll tell you what sir, how about we give you an additional three months of programming, this would mean that your account would expire in November of 2009, which should give you time to decide whether or not you would like to continue being part of the XM Nation"
Me: "No chance of a refund huh?"
XM: "I can't do it, sorry."
Me: "Ok, I'll take the three months"
XM: "I will transfer you over to someone who can help you with that, thank you again for being part of XM Radio."
