SDSU lost 40-19 to Eastern Illinois on Saturday. Their QB threw the ball 63 times for 318 yards 4 INTs and 0 TDs. I have to think this will be a good game for our young defense to work out some of the bugs from this week.

San Diego Union-Tribune - Rocky Long accepts blame for SDSU loss

Whatever San Diego State’s players thought of how badly they played in their season opening, 40-19 loss to Eastern Illinois on Saturday night at Qualcomm Stadium, fans won’t know for at least a few days.

Head coach Rocky Long let his men take a pass on taking the hot seat, barring them from talking to the media.

Asked why he didn’t allow the players to speak, Long said, “I didn’t feel like it. … It’s my fault, so I’ll answer the questions. It’s not their fault.”

It was pointed out to Long that it was his players who performed and executed poorly, and he responded, “I’m the coach. If you have decent players and they don’t execute very well, it means that we didn’t put them in the proper position. We didn’t teach them the proper way. If their performance is bad, it’s my fault. It’s as simple as that.”

Damn San Diego State can't even be considered a "decent" win this year... Looking to be a plunger game.

Some video from the Internets of the loss to Eastern Illinois. I guess they could be considered highlights. San Diego State clips are basically turnovers and busted plays for long gains or TDs. I'd be surprised if OSU doesn't put up 50+, maybe 60+, but that's what I expected this past weekend too.

We were on track to put 50+ up on Buffalo until we got sloppy...plus SDSU has no one like Khalil Mack on their defense who will be in our backfield all game long. If a so-so FCS team can pound SDSU on their home turf, we had better rack up about 45 points and 350 yards on them by halftime.

Looks like one of those games where no matter what the Buckeyes do it won't be "enough" for some fans. I'm guessing SDSU doesn't play as poorly as they did last week, but if the Bucks execute it should not be close. Still, if you're expecting 99-3 you may be setting yourself up for disappointment.
