INSIDER: Top football recruit eliminates colleges after tough questioning
September 19, 2012, by Michael Carvell

Vonn Bell, the AJC Super 11 safety, had a unique way to narrow down to his three finalists.

The 4-star football recruit from Ridgeland High School threw three loaded questions to each of his seven favorites ? Alabama, UGA, Clemson, Tennessee, Ohio State, Texas and Vanderbilt.

?Vonn and his family just wanted the facts from a few fact-finding questions,? Ridgeland coach Mark Mariakis told the AJC. ?They had already done all the fluff questions and conversations. They had seen the facilities and trophies. They wanted to get down to the nitty gritty with the facts.?

So what were the three magical questions from Vonn Bell?

How could you help my job career after college? ?He wants to go into coaching at the college level,? Mariakis said. ?He just wanted to know what the college could offer in that area of academics with the educational part, the opportunity for a young man to get some job experience, and just what their plan academically was for him.?

Dooleys record against ranked opponents, hopefully should only help the buckeyes, right?:

*Tennessee*has a lot of recruiting momentum right now. Players such as safetyVonn Bell*and offensive lineman*Reeve Koehler*are strong leans to the Vols, and stars*Jalen Ramsey,*Derrick Green,*Marquez North,*Derrick Henry,*David Williamsand many, many others showing increased interest. However,*Derek Dooley*is now 0-11 in Knoxville against ranked teams and 0-18 all-time. That doesn't fly at Tennessee, and the Vols have a stretch of four straight games against ranked teams starting Sept. 29. If the trend continues, Dooley's seat will continue to heat up, and that will make recruiting interesting down the stretch.

If Bell picks UT it clearly has nothing to do with Dooley. He would be picking UT despite Dooley IMO. If we see a regime change I can't hardly see it hurting them, only helping. He has been a fan of the program, not the coach. Personally I hope he stays.
