I am certainly no expert on college or NFL football but most of those guys I have never heard of......like I said....I would have lost my shorts on a bet here. Damn good work on the part of Mili and gbear.

Doesn't look like Mike is going to get one now that Manning had to face a defense that doesn't look like swiss cheese before he plays it. I should have known all along it was a big game and Peyton would choke. Hate to see Mike and some of those guys go out like that but it happens.

On the bright side for Colts fans... Manning won two more playoff games than he ever did before. Just goes to show what a huge advantage home field was for the Pats..... I think it would have been a different game if played inside in Indy. On the plus side Vrable has a shot at another ring.

I had the pleasure of spending the evening with Mike and his girlfriend last night. Mike is one of the classiest guys I have every met. He represents Canton, OH very well.

I learned that he had always wanted to go to UM as a kid. His Uncle and Dad "smacked him upside the head" and told him he was going to be a Buckeye. The conversation then turned to why he stayed his 4th year. He said on the day he was to decide and have his press conference, he turned his cell phone off and walked around to think about it. At 2:00 when he walked into the press office, to make his decission known, his Uncle walks up behind him and smacks him on the head, yells at him for not having his phone on, and tells him he is going to stay for his 4th year. Mike was so impressed his Uncle drove all the way down from Canton, he changed his mind and stayed.

Now if we could just turn his Uncle loose on some other kids....

I saw those comments too, DiHard. Some people just aren't happy if the don't get their way.

Doss will always be one of my favorites... thanks for sharing the story.

I don't think I'll ever forgive Butch Davis for not taking him in the second round last year.
His big down side was his supposed inablility to cover the pass. Who cares?!
Great kid with a big heart, from a great school and he hits like an animal. Butch takes an unknown from a div. III school in stead of Doss.
Mike finished second in tackles for the Colts last years.

Was his uncle Chris Spielman's dad? Good to know there was that family influence. I wonder how he thanked his uncle for helping him decide to stay and then win a national championship? Of course, winning the NC was probably thanks enough.

This year will be a good test to see what Butch is thinking in Cleveland. Thompson (?) is supposed to compete for a starting job and the speculation continues that Butch will take KW junior or Taylor at 7. I might be able to live with Taylor, but I heard he was lazy in his evaluation. What can you say about junior, besides he belongs in Baltimore.

Edit - I believe junior scored a 12 on the wonderlic. Impressive.
