Could Mike Doss wear a Super Bowl Ring?

As I watched the INdy/ KC game sunday, I began to think about Mike Doss and how he could be coming close to wearing a super bowl ring next to his
N/C ring. Would that be a First ? I maybe going out on a limb here but you
never know, the way Indy is on a roll right now, it could be possible. New England will be tough to beat with there stingy defense. But I would not mind seeing Indianapolis in the super bowl for a change. And if Doss does get a super bowl ring, would he be the only rookie to accompish this feat or has it already been done before. I can't think of any and maybe some you guys can. Anybody??

I'm not sure, but I think the question is: Has anyone won a National Championship in College and then won the Super Bowl in the Pros the very next year? I would guess yes, but I don't really know. I also think that Mr. Doss won an Ohio High School State Championship as well. I believe has was quoted as saying (while at OSU) that he has won a Championship at every level in Football and that was one of the reasons he was returning for his senior year at OSU (to win it at the Collegiate level). I would love to see Mike get a Super Bowl Champions ring.

To claify this thread in a simpler manner I will say that Mike Doss has a National Championship ring from 2002. Now that he is with the Indianapolis Colts, he could very well have an opportunity to become one of the very few rookies to be able to receive a Super Bowl ring in back to back years which could be a first. I realize alot of rookies get super bowl rings but to be a rookie and just coming to the NFL after getting a college N/C ring would be a rare feat in my opinion. Just trying to wonder if this has ever been accomplished before.

Good question Kip.....unfortunately, I don't have an answer to your question but I would have to say there are very few who can or could make that claim.

Yeah BuckeyeSkins: my head is spinning also and I can't even begin to imagine who they would be but is it something to think about if Doss could accomplish that fete. I have some friends here in J-ville, one is a talk show host named Greg Larson and he is going to look into it and bring it up on his sports talk show today. Maybe we will get some answers then.

I for one would be interested in knowing how many athletes fall into that category. As I said, I don't have a clue but I would venture to say that there are very few.

Buckskins,

I have laready fount three (still checking... I am posting updates of my findings as I go throught the years)...
I have to admit I'm surprised you found that many in that short period of time. But just goes to show you what happens when you start digging into the facts. If I had to bet money before any of this came up I would probably have lost my shorts.
