S/LB Tyler Moeller (official thread)

Is Tyler going to play any other sports or is he just going to work on preparing for the Bucks?

That has to be a strength coaches dream to get to build an athlete like Tyler who is willing to do whatever it takes to reach his goals.

he is not playing any other sports...he is totally committed to preparing for the OSU football season...

Though there are some of us that are trying to talk him into running track in the spring to work on his speed and quickness.

Tyler's goal is to bulk up while not losing his speed. He is all about nutrition and weights right now and he will focus on his speed in the spring while lifting to maintain his strength.

Tyler, to the best of my knowledge, is not on any specific program prescribed by the OSU staff at this time...though, I believe, he has consulted a personal trainer in addition to the guidance of Colerain's strength coach.

Update:

Tyler is up to 207lbs. He started work last week with a personal trainer in the area who works with Senior football players in Cincinnati that are heading off to college to play. I didn't catch the guys name, but it is my understanding that he is a former OSU G.A. who was in Columbus when JT was an assistant.

btw....keep questioning wether or not Tyler is big enough to play LB...he loves that and it fuels his competitive drive. :wink2:

Also...I have a story to tell that I promised that I would keep secret until signing day. I think you guys will get a kick out of it. Stay tuned...

Thanks again for the update H&G.

I honestly think that Moeller is going to be a stud. He may be undersized now, but he will continue to work hard int he weightroom and when he gets here he could be a force.

Hey H&G I am just curious if there has been any Safety talk at all. I personally want him to play OLB, but if we could get Johnson, Homan, Gibson on the field at once and then have Moeller at safety that is like having four lbs on the field. I dont envision seeing teams running very well on that D.

Also I am sure he will redshirt, but has a decision already been talked about here, or do you know what the coaches have told him about pt next year.
