You are now a Buckeye for life and part of another great football family in Columbus. I am excited to know that I will continue to see you play in person a couple of games a year and following your entire career so close to home. Now...if you had ONLY TOLD ME FIRST...:biggrin:


Well, I guess this raps up the majority of my posting on the BP recruiting forum. You guys are awesome and I am glad to keep all of you guys in the loop, as best I could, on the Colerain recruits. There is another Colerain player that should get some exposure soon and that is Eugene Clifford. When Ohio High Magazine listed their top Juniors in the state I nearly choked on my wheaties when his name wasn't listed...the kid already has an offer from TSUN...so I hope the Bucks take notice of 'Gene and get him in Scarlet and Gray, too!

Thanks to all of you who have given me greenies for my information. I really apreciate it...and, again, Congrats Tyler! you are hell of a football player and a hell of a nice young man.

Special shout out to OSUgrad 21 for starting this thread about Tyler when I informed him about T-Moe's offers from VaTech and Iowa...thanks, Grad!

thanks to H&G for all his great info on the Colerain kids this year. he went 2 for 3 for us... let's hope he can have some luck with Eugene Clifford next year. :osu:

I remember when 21 sent the mods a PM telling us that he was starting a thread about Moeller but that we shouldn't get too excited because you had told him that Tyler was only really looking at schools like either Tennessee or Iowa. So for the first few weeks I think some of us just saw the thread and just gave it a casual glance. Fast forward to 3 months later and 20 pages of discussion about Bobby Boucher and we have our newest Buckeye. Congrats to Tyler and H&G!

Cincinnati Colerain linebacker Tyler Moeller ended the suspense Wednesday by committing to Ohio State. Sources told Bucknuts.com of the commitment earlier today and The Cincinnati Enquirer reported it as well on its web site this afternoon. Click here for more.

Sources told Bucknuts.com earlier today that Cincinnati Colerain linebacker Tyler Moeller had committed to Ohio State.


However, we were awaiting confirmation from a family source or from Colerain head coach Kerry Coombs.

In the meantime, The Cincinnati Enquirer reported on its web site that Moeller had indeed verbaled to the Buckeyes. He joins teammate Connor Smith, an offensive lineman, in OSU's eight-man recruiting class for 2006. That class could number as many as 19 signees by February.

Sources told Bucknuts.com that Moeller committed to OSU recruiting coordinator John Peterson on Wednesday after attending Saturday's showdown between No. 2 Texas and No. 4 Ohio State at Ohio Stadium.
The 6-2, 205-pound Moeller could play linebacker or safety at the next level. He was credited with nine tackles, including a pair of sacks, in Friday's 27-12 win over Tyler (Texas) Lee at Crew Stadium.

“Tyler Moeller has a motor that runs like no kid that I’ve ever seen,” Coombs said after the game. “This kid right here (Smith) has got one too. But Tyler Moeller is a special kid. He goes from the first play to the last play and will give everything he has on every down. It’s almost, you stand back and watch him and you think he can’t keep on going. But he does. Play after play after play. It’s a privilege to coach him because he’s like that every day in practice.”

Moeller will be ranked as Ohio's No. 21 high school senior in the November edition of Ohio High magazine. He is also rated as the nation's No. 19 linebacker by Scout.com.

He committed to the Buckeyes over Iowa and Miami (Ohio).

Here is what Ohio High recruiting editor Duane Long wrote about Moeller in the August edition:

"Colerain head coach Kerry Coombs sent me a tape just a few weeks ago. I was watching the linebackers, looking for Cobrani Mixon, but I could not take my eyes off of No. 28, Tyler Moeller.

"Last year, Andre Revels got all the ink, and this year it is looking like Cobrani Mixon will be having the microphones shoved in his face, but Moeller is a great linebacker prospect. Not a good prospect – a great one.
"I don’t have a 40 time on him, but I don’t care. His football speed is as good as any linebacker in Ohio. I like high school linebackers this size anyway; I just don’t see a need for great, big outside linebackers in a 4-3 defense, but this one is long and lean. He is going to weigh 225-230 even if he never sees the inside of a weight room. He is a great hitter in addition to being a solid tackler."
