S/LB Nate Oliver (official thread)

I only watche dthe film of Nate on D, but I love the kid's tenacity. Needs some advance work on things like pursuit angles, but he will continue to get better this year and when he gets on campus. Glad he is going to be a part of this class...

This was my first look at Nate...he looks very comfortable in space and certainly does not shy from contact. Instinctive was my first thought...he has the physical tools, nothing overwhelmingly impressive, but seemed smooth on the field. That comes from a player with confidence in what he is doing. Impressive film.

he certainly doesn't shy away from contact and always ends up around the ball. good qualities too have out of a future safety.

Great read on Oliver being the first commitment. Sounds like a great player, hard worker, and a player that really cares about his teammates. He also mentions calling Dionte Allen, talking with Hubbard, and also says he will talk to both Gamble and Dailey about OSU. He makes it sounds as if OSU will be recruiting both hard by the way he says it.

“When I’m in the weight room and I’m squatting, like, I’ll push it a little harder,” Oliver said. “And when I’m running track, I’ll pump my arms a little faster and a little harder just because I’m going to Ohio State and I need to improve my skills.”

Nate gets it. At 6'0" and eventually 215lbs. he will be heckuva Safety once he gets to campus. I cannto wait to see him out there.

Great read. Nate is heading to Columbus this weekend and is recruiting Dionte Allen and Ronald Johnson. He says ND and Michigan are still recruiting him but he is not interested at all.

Nate might not be screaming for headlines like Mallett and Clausen, but he is doing his share of recruiting.
