S Donte Whitner (Official Thread)

Mingo said:
quit whining you selfish bastages.

Donte feels he is ready for the next level. He's going. Wish him luck. He's given years of his life for the program, and he's done an admiral job.

All that's been said really amounts to: "It doesn't make sense, because I wanted him to come back".

Donte's got speed. Donte will get drafted. It's not like these pro teams don't see what we have seen. Just cheer the kid on jeez, some of you are making him out to be a traitor.

No one here's whining, and no one's calling Donte a traitor. If you take the time to read the previous posts, everyone here is wishing him success in the NFL and no one said that he turned his back on tOSU or that he betrayed us. We are simply pointing out that we think it's better for next year's team and Donte's draft stock for him to return to college for another season. Do you really think that we just think that, "It doesn't make sense, because I wanted him to come back"? Get a clue. We're not the only ones who think he won't go that high in the draft. Check this out from CFN:

Donte Whitner, S Ohio State
Projected: 3rd to 5th round
Good or bad move? He needs work. He could've used another year to build more of a buzz. He would've been one of the Big Ten's best defenders in 2006.

I dont understand him or Ashton leaving... im not pissed or thinking of them as traitors.. IMO, i feel they both could of benefited themselves and the 2006 buckeyes by staying another yea. To each his own, good luck at the next level.

ah well. I guess when you stay up all night your impressions can be a little skewed. my bad. Still, I don't understand any resent shown towards his decision. Not all of you are bastages, in fact i'd reckon most of you are not bastages, and i guess i'm the only one that looks like a bastage right now :p

oh and admirable, and i think you knew that.

Everyone's happy for Donte and I don't think I've seen a single post that didn't say "best of luck to Donte". We're all happy for him, it's just some of us thought it would be a better idea to come back for his senior year for a number of reasons.
