As far as how good S. Carolina will be this year, I don't know. But given the sorry state of SEC basketball, I suspect they'll be in the upper tier, behind maybe only UK, Florida and Tennessee.
Ken Pomeroy rates the 'Cocks fifth out of the six teams in the SEC East. So maybe not.

Don't get me wrong; this was a good win. But we weren't playing the Boston Celtics, or even the Wisconsin Badgers.

1. I'm not going to rag on Gawgia because they have a terrific young coach who I believe will have them routinely in the top half of the SEC, sooner rather than later. Woof's ill-conceived smack talk notwithstanding. He must have got hold of some bad oysters.

It was very ill conceived and I owe the board an apology. College basketball in my view (and in the bulk of the south - kentucky notwithstanding) is just something to bridge the gap between National Signing Day and Spring Practice.

I was (attempting to poke fun) at the excitement in stomping a team that makes the NCAA tournament once every 5 years and whose fan base doesn't really care about hoops.

Regardless, it came across as a dig at the team - which was not my intention.

Good luck to the hoops team this year - I assure you I'll stay out of hoops threads unless the Dawgs play the Buckeyes in the NCAA tournament this season.

Thanks for your good wishes.

We also get the humor about the NCAA. Sorry that your team is the only one ranked below South Carolina in the SEC East. :)

best I've seen too..

What's amazing this season is the ability to adjust to whatever the opponent throws at the Bucks. Fla tried the press, OSU shatters it. Last game they triple team Sully, OSU fires over their heads. Yesterday they tried everything starting with covering the outside. OSU makes them pay with a combination of Sully, mid range Buford, and even Craft driving to the rim.

Last year take away ET and you had a good chance of beating OSU. This season....

Go Bucks!!

p.s. Satch Sullinger should be offered a job as big man coach.

I am not buying this at all. After living down here over the last decade, I can tell you that basketball is very important to many people in the south. I can't speak for the Georgia area specifically, but in my time in a few different states down here in the south, basketball is a big deal and is not just a fill-in.
