Yeah, it appears you guys are right. I've been snooping around other message boards and it looks like he shouldn't be out too long.

I wouldn't assume a high ankle sprain in necessarily a minor injury that will have him back in a week or two. I think they can be pretty severe, an require a long recovery time. isn't that what Curtis Terry's injury is?

A-Russ loss last year was a blow we never recovered from. We can make do this year with moving people around.
Thank goodness for Chekwi and Wash playing great! Enabling Jenks to move to safety. And getting Amos back will help, too!

Although it may look like a cheap shot, Ohio State's receivers do the same thing. It is actually taught and encouraged to do at Ohio State, and is called a cut block. (Watch Hartline on run plays, he is pretty good at it.)

IMO a cut block isn't done from the direct rear. Thats a clip

Cut blocks aren't done from behind, and if I'm not mistaken cut blocks are done below the waist but above the knees...

Sorry, bro, but that block was clearly from behind...

anyway, the difference is small and purely semantic, but cut blocks are from the front and chop blocks are from the side and back. of course, that's neither here nor there. a cut/chop block to the side or back is a move that warrants a flag. russell wasn't engaged with another player and he wasn't at the line of scrimmage; however, it was the type of block that is dirty and needs to be discouraged.
