So, my opinion of Georgia was clearly overestimated, though I still think they have a puncher's chance against Oz.

England and NZ get their games canceled (and some extra rest and avoidance of potential injuries before their quarterfinal games), which stinks to high heaven. Plus, we're deprived of the glory of anything England vs France. Just move them to a site away from the fricking typhoon. It doesn't mean anything for Italy's hopes, and England-France end up as they would have anyways, but Scotland gets right proper roger'd out of any chance at the quarterfinals. From Wales' perspective, we get a France team that didn't have to play their last game and thus benefits from the extra rest and no injuries.

Any thoughts on the quarterfinals. Japan has to be a sentimental favorite for the upset.

I'm still convinced that England look like the 98 or 06 Buckeyes, unstoppable right up until the moment they're stopped. Wales is like the 02 Buckeyes, not the most talented or flashy, but they just find a way to win.

Well done to Wales, who put up quite a fight and scored a late try, before losing to South Africa 19-16. The Springboks refused to kick a final easy penalty and kicked the ball out of bounds to end the game.

Computers had the Springboks an 11 point favorite, so even if it really was a 6-point margin, Wales did ORD proud.

Next up for the Boks, England.

Not the blowout you were expecting, bu still a nutpunch. This was Wales' big shot, and with being able to avoid the AB's in the final in favor of an English team that they match up with very well, it hurts. Losing Gatland and some of the leadership poses a big question mark as to where they'll be the next couple of years.

Good luck next weekend. I've said since the beginning that England is the most talented team in the field, but they just find a way to lose games they shouldn't. If it's one of those games that they find a way to trip over themselves, the Boks should be hoisting the Webb-Ellis, but if they bring their A-game, the Boks will have a long day I fear.
