IMO you won’t upgrade… but can we get someone who wins the games that matter? Yes.

The more I think of it the more I think that answer is Marcus Freeman. Does he lose games he shouldn’t? Yep. Has he had a few very good seasons yep.

Marcus is young, kids love him, he’s a buckeye, and more importantly he understands the stakes of TCUN game.

Will we lose to Penn State occasionally? Maybe. Will we maybe lose to Texas in the non conference? Maybe. Will he not get the rivalry game? Absolutely not.

So my short list is Marcus Freeman and Dan Lanning. The more I thought about it the more we really shouldn’t go to guys like Saban, Meyers etc.

All I know is I’ve seen enough. I love Ryan Day because he’s a fine person but it’s just not working here.

Freeman’s not the answer. If he wasn’t an OSU alum, you wouldn’t even be throwing him out there as a potential replacement.

A lot of people forget OSU did not make a huge jump until urban Meyer was the coach. Sure tresses won the game, but it wasn't until Meyer that our recruiting took off and we were a powerhouse every year.

I've seen just as many programs go south as get better. Just look at FSU.

As for keeping Day because you’re afraid of what could happen. Guys yes the risk is there to get worse but you all really want to roll with Cooper 2.0?

Hoping it gets better isn’t a strategy and there’s certainly coaches out there who have more experience that would bring things to the table that Ryan Day doesn’t.

Who cares what he does with QBs… what does he do with OL? With the running game? With coaching in big games.

I’m sorry, and this is not a slap at you because I get what you’re saying, but someone needs to enlighten me as to what he does with the QBs.

The last 2 years have been meh at QB. Sayin and an incoming true freshman are the future. But otherwise pretty bland.

Not trying to be a doodoo head, but how's that QB acumen worked out the past two years? He did great with Fields (and largely Urban roster), pretty good with Stroud. Since? McCord was okay and he utterly failed to have a backup ready to play the bowl game. This year he went out and got a somewhat flawed veteran and we saw the warts today. Not sure what exactly to expect from the position going forward, to be honest.
