Rose Bowl: USC 38, Penn St. 24 (Final)

Couldn't agree more. I'm convinced that the speed discussion is what these guys use as a safety net when they have no idea what to say.

At least they agreed that the skill positions are equal, saying it is just the backers and d-line that are faster.

I kinda think that myself. You did not lose to us Glendale because of a lack of WR and running back speed....our DEs blew you up the whole game.

The Fiesta blowout definitely had more to do with D-line speed (and a certain LT whiffing on every block). But most of the talking heads comments are about the skill players, and even if they're not, they're wrong. PSU's got two great speed rushing DEs. Before the game, they were definitely saying USC was faster overall, which means they haven't heard of Derrick Williams or the other PSU WRs, or they chose to ignore reality in favor of stereotype. I could understand the hubub after the Fiesta, because it certainly looked true on the field, but now it's become the only key to every game.
