Rose Bowl: USC 38, Penn St. 24 (Final)

Stop all the "USC should be in the title game" talk. If they would have taken care of business, they'd be there. End of story. Better luck next year. Start complaining about a playoff if you think they deserve a shot at the title. And I personally think Florida would beat USC.

So let me get this straight, Florida can lose to Ole Miss, yet still be more deserving of the title game over USC? Is one loss more damaging than another? What about Oklahoma losing to Texas?

Point is, we are long overdue for a playoff system. This BS with polls deciding which one-loss teams are deserving of the NC game needs to go. ASAP.

Of course Herbie the hater states that USC has beaten the Big 10 8 in a row by an average of 25 points. It may be true, but how has USC done against the SEC? I recall them beating Auburn and Arkansas home and away by some pretty high numbers. However, pointing this out would ruin Herbie's hating on the Big 10. A little more fair and balanced Herbie -- USC would beat everyone this year (except Oregon State).

Actually go back the old system and let the AP poll and coach's poll sort things out after the bowls. Screw this half assed attempt at matching one and two.

thats not the point, for the last time

as soon as USC lost, they no longer controlled their own destiny

HAD USC BEATEN OREGON STATE, they would had controlled their own destiny, not the voters......

You're reaching here. They are playing a team from the Big 10 not a team from the SEC.

Ummm...no. Going backwards isn't a solution. A playoff is very easy to do, and it's done everywhere else in the world of sports.

So you really want Alabama/florida/LSU/SEC-over-hyped-team-of-the-year to win the Mythical National championship every year?

I sure as hell don't.

I would love to see the Rose Bowl played at Soldier Field...

That would be interesting television. I'd settle for the dome in St. Louis, where both teams would have to travel and live out of hotels.

Of course, it wouldn't be the Rose Bowl anymore.

How about this...a playoff? :wink2:
