Harmonix and MTV Games announced today the addition of seven new tracks to the Rock Band Music Store catalog of downloadable content. This week?s mammoth lineup features seven master recordings from legendary, alternative grunge band, Nirvana, including, ?Breed,? ?Lounge Act,? ?On a Plain,? ?Polly,? ?Something in the Way,? ?Stay Away,? and ?Territorial Pissings.? These tracks join ?In Bloom? from the original Rock Band soundtrack and ?Drain You? featured on the Rock Band 2 soundtrack to make for a total of nine Nirvana songs available in the Rock Band music catalog.

Each Track will be available starting October 21, 2008, for the Xbox 360 and October 23, 2008, for PLAYSTATION 3. The cost is $1,99 per track (160 Microsoft Points) or $10,99 (880 Microsoft Points) for the Nirvana 7-pack.

Yeah, I have been reading that there's an issue with the drums, as well as a bug in online play where you can only play online with a complete band, meaning, no drum/guitar, vocals/drums, etc... guitar/guitar is ok. Redoctane acknowledged both issues already, but it's still not a good thing to have these upon initial release. Especially if you consider other countries have had the game for a few weeks now... :(

Oh well, mine will be here Thursday and I'll get a better idea. I haven't played RB2, but RB1 the guitar frustrated the fuck out of me, and the pedal for the drums was an enormous pain in the ass, (seriously, was there a comfortable place to put that thing if you are over 6' tall?)

So far all I have heard is that the connections to a couple of the pads are bad. There's been fixes posted, but I don't know if anyone would buy a game so they could repair the drumset.

Ok so a lot of people are having problems with the drums. I was fortunate enough to get a set that works well, but my buddy wasn't. His red pad was not registering. First, try using brand new Energizer batteries. If that doesn't work, here's what you do:

- Take the kit off of the stand and flip it over.

- Take out all of the screws.

- Remove the back from the front.

- Look at the pad that's giving you trouble and make sure that there is a black wire AND a red/blue/green wire attached to that pad. (Red if it's the red pad, blue for blue, etc.)

- If one of or both of the wires are detached, simply scrape the goop from the bottom of the pad to reveal little pieces of metal. Look at the other pads to see where they have the wires set. Reattach your wires to the small pieces of metal with electrical tape.

- Put the kit back together and rock your face off.

Granted, this may void any warranty you have on the kit, but you won't have to wait 6 weeks for them to do the exact same work you're going to do. You'll be back to rocking in 2 hours. We literally just got done doing this to my buddy's kit and it works perfectly now. I hope this helps.

That's the fix, I would wait and see when they get it out and everything is working correctly. It works with RB2, which makes me happy, since I have GHWT coming this week, I can rent RB2 and try it out. I have Rock Band 1, but for the Wii so no DLC and was holding out for this game, but apparently, there's some issues that Redoctane didn't really think through.
