Rock Band/Guitar Hero Thread

So, I've been playing GHWT for awhile but today I popped RB2 back in.. I noticed that I'm struggling big time with their HO/PO. I used to always get a 96% on expert guitar on "Hysteria" by Muse, but today I got an 86%. It was so bad that I had to stop playing

I guess I just have to get used to RB's system again.

Alabama Getaway is a cool song for hammer ons.

I've been playing both today too. Unfortunately I don't think there is a way to make the Ion Drums activate the Star Power/Overdrive for GH...at least I can't figure it out.

I've got very good musical genes in my family. Parents are very musically talented and both my sisters sang the national anthem at Miami OH while they were there. I can follow a beat very well and that's key to these music games.

I'm tone deaf and I have trouble typing sometimes, let alone strumming a guitar. I can play damn near every song on every game on expert, guitar and bass. Musical genes don't mean shit to a gamer.

I would be guessing he's talking more about a "musical ear" and holding rhythm. A possible comparison might be a "gamer" who is playing the game very well and someone with an "musical ear" who could actually tell where the notes are off on the note charts.

Playing an actual guitar has a lot of the same things implemented in guitar hero. It's just easier to do,because it's a lot more simplified on the game. If you play anything enough you'll get better.

I'm sure it would never happen, but I always thought it would be interesting to see if activision could make a guitar there was a lot more sensitive to the note. Pressure sensitive to the fingers and strum bar with precise coordination could make songs sound a lot more realistic. Maybe a practice mode with amp settings adjustable for your own pickings as well.

You can sell the drumset alone for about 100 bux on ebay, in case you can't find a buyer.

Yeah, I'd rather not have to ship it unless I have too. Craigslist a good idea?

Guitar Hero World Tour February DLC
Three new track packs set for the upcoming month.
by Erik Brudvig
January 26, 2009 - Activision and Neversoft have committed to delivering three more track packs of downloadable music for Guitar Hero World Tour in the month of February. A total of nine upcoming songs have been revealed to IGN, each available as singles on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii.

The previously unannounced lineup begins on February 12 with the Acoustic Track Pack. Included here are The Shins' "New Slang," Ryan Adams' Grammy nominated version of "Wonderwall," and "Drive" by Incubus.

Paul McCartney's Wings will be the focus of the February 19 release with the Wings Track Pack. The three songs included will be "Junior's Farm," "Hi Hi Hi," and "Jet." This will bring the total number of Wings songs available to four on top of "Band on the Run" which is included on the disc.

Rounding out the month will be the Bob Seger Track Pack. This will include the songs "Old Time Rock and Roll" (already featured in Guitar Hero World Tour commercials, "Her Strut," and "Get Out of Denver." This last February track pack will be put up for download on February 26.

On Xbox Live and PlayStation Store, the three track packs will each have a price of $5.49 (440 Microsoft points). Each track can also be purchased individually for $1.99, 160 Microosft points or 200 Wii points.

The Shins and Incubus are nice additions to the music games. I also like how GH says what is coming out for an entire month, as opposed to one week at a time.
